Federline Can't Lay off Booze and Smokes

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline had an argument at the premiere of 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory', it has been claimed.

The pregnant singer and her husband arrived at the Hollywood premiere of the children's film, starring Johnny Depp, smiling and looking happy. However, sources claim Britney - who wore a blue shirt with the words "I have the golden ticket" and an arrow pointing to her swollen baby bump - was later seen blasting Kevin at the premiere party over his excessive drinking and smoking. According to reports, the 23-year-old mother-to-be - who is rumored to be expecting twins - was furious with her husband for smoking around her while she is pregnant.

A source said: "Britney told Kevin to avoid the alcohol at the party and to lay off the cigarettes. "Kevin had a few glasses of champagne and a smoke and she just hit the roof calling him selfish."

Interesting In-Laws for Hilton

Paris Hilton’s fiancé has a family with a colorful past.

Paris Latsis changed his last name from Kasidokostas and took on his mother’s maiden name — reportedly to evoke the fabulous shipping fortune from that side of his family. But some people are wondering whether that was a wise move socially. Latsis’ maternal grandfather, shipping tycoon John Latsis, who died in 2003, was a notorious figure abroad and has been called a Nazi collaborator and a black marketeer.

Latsis was accused of profiteering during World War II and stood trial for collaborating with the Nazis. He was acquitted, but faced further criticism for his close friendship with Colonel Georgios Papadopoulos, leader of the fascist junta which seized power in Greece in 1967. A biography published in Athens in 1991 was bluntly titled: "John Latsis: Gangster."

In certain social circles, associating with Latsis simply was not done. Prince Charles was scolded by the UK press when he accepted a ride aboard John Latsis’ yacht in 1999. “This unpleasant Greek isn't offering such largesse to Prince Charles out of kindly benevolence,” chided London’s Daily Mail. “He’s doing it because he likes to boast that the future King of England is a friend. . . . But the trip has sickened many of us.”

Braff and Moore No More

It looks like Zach Braff and Mandy Moore are kaput.

Braff, celebrating his freedom, tomcatted his way around New York last weekend. Starting on Thursday, Braff arrived at Level V with "a harem of young women." He at first tried to set up his pal Gavin DeGraw with one of them, but "it seemed that he was the one trying to personally 'match' himself to any woman who looked his way," our spy said. Over the weekend, Braff continued to flirt and hook up with women at Marquee and Cain.

Nicole, the Writer

Nicole Richie is adding novelist to her resume after penning a new book loosely based on her high life.

Rock + Royalty is the tale of society princess Chloe Parker. Richie, the daughter of soul legend Lionel Richie, admits she didn't have to do too much research for the project: "I would think about things that I have experienced and just twist it down and make them more exciting or a little less exciting."

A dark chapter of the book deals with Richie's past as a drug addict.

She adds, "I think sometimes when people think of the word drug addict they think the word dirty, under a bridge, like, really rock bottom. You don't have to be that person to be an addict."

VS Show Back On

Get excited, boys:

The Victoria's Secret show is back on. The lingerie giant canceled last year's show after prudish TV viewers complained to the FCC. But it's rumored that the buzz around the modeling agencies is that girls are being put on hold for an extravaganza at the Lexington Avenue Armory in November.

It will be Tyra Banks' last Victoria's Secret show as well as pregnant Heidi Klum's post-baby runway return. Gisele Bundchen, Karolina Kurkova and Adriana Lima, will also strut their stuff in the company's saucy creations. A new TV deal is yet to be worked out.

Extreme Dodgeball

Jeremiah Trotter needs another rubdown. Lately the pro football star been on the massage table more than he ever has in his career. But pain happens when you're playing "Extreme Dodgeball."

"Those balls hurt when they hit you - especially if you get hit in the face," says Trotter, soaked in sweat after his third game of the day. And there's still game four. "That's a lot when you're out there moving and jerking. Especially throwing. I throw hard," the Philadelphia Eagles linebacker says, "and that takes a toll on your arm. I skinned my knee yesterday dodging for a ball, but that's the nature of the sport."

In this third season of GSN's "Extreme Dodgeball," premiering 10 p.m. EDT Tuesday, the game with roots on playgrounds veers from its first season as a comedic farce - where sumo wrestlers pummeled jockeys - into real hit-and-run sports action.

On the court, each team is headed by a celebrity captain. The top four teams will go on to the playoffs, vying for a championship purse of $170,000.

Pitt Has Meningitis

Brad Pitt, who entered the hospital Monday night with what was described as a "flu-like illness," was discharged from L.A.'s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Wednesday afternoon after being diagnosed with a mild case of viral meningitis, his publicist announced.

"The actor is at home and doing well," publicist Cindy Guagenti says in a statement.

Viral meningitis – generally regarded as serious but rarely fatal in persons with normal immune systems – involves inflammation of the tissues covering the brain and spinal cord. Most patients recover from viral meningitis in a week, with severe illness and death uncommon, according to the Centers for Disease Control.

Perhaps this will make him feel better:Angelina Jolie was spotted spending more than $1500 on undies and other items at the upscale London erotic emporium, Coco De Mer.

The London Mirror reports that the sultry actress frequents the lingerie and toy store and has been spied flipping through books on sexual positions and playing with feather ticklers and blindfolds. "Angelina's not embarrassed by anything at the shop - she loves it all and buys quite a lot. She's in here whenever she's in the country. But her most recent trip a few weeks ago was the most she has ever spent. Brad's one lucky guy," said a source.

"Angelina bought sexy, lacy underwear and sex books. She loves looking through the new underwear. There are all sorts there: panties, G-strings, half-cup bras which are all incredibly erotic. She likes them all," said the tattler. "She also loves anything that's made of leather and they sell lots of basques and bras made out of black leather."

Not So Happy Birthday

The New York Daily News reports that Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey behaved like perfect strangers at a private 25th-birthday party for Jessica at her parents home in Los Angeles over the weekend.

"Nick and Jessica weren't even speaking," said a tattler. "In fact, they didn't even arrive together - he met her there. Then, when she was blowing out the candles on her cake, he was in the back with his friends, like he didn't care."

The source hinted that the sour mood may have been due to Tina and Joe Simpson's lack of party-planning skills. "It was a really lame party," says the tattler. "Everyone was bored and left early. There was hardly any alcohol - they nearly ran out. They're really bad at planning a party."

No Parisian Love for Cruise

Some Parisians think that Tom Cruise is a sect symbol.

The “War of the Worlds” star got engaged to Katie Holmes in the French capital, but now the city’s leaders have voted not to make Cruise an honorary citizen because of his membership in the controversial Church of Scientology.

In a debate this week, Paris’s City Hall pledged “never to welcome the actor Tom Cruise, spokesman for Scientology and self-declared militant for this organization,” according to Agence France Presse.

Cruise had been made an honorary citizen of Marseille, but his religion is considered a cult by many French authorities, and one deputy there called the star a “sect symbol.”

Marriage Was Brit's Idea

Britney Spears' first husband told "A Current Affair" in an exclusive interview that their short-lived marriage was her idea.

"She proposed to me," Jason Alexander said of their 55-hour marriage. "She asked me to marry her."

Alexander also told the syndicated tabloid TV show his union with the pop princess "was consummated" even though they "never got around" to having an official honeymoon. He said a lot of people urged him to fight the annulment, which he described as a "real eye opener."

However, he described Spears' current husband, Kevin Federline, as "a really cool guy" and predicted his pregnant ex will be a good mother and wife. "I'm just happy for her and I hope the best for her," he said in the interview scheduled to air Friday.

--Why is this guy still around?

Haylie's Next Role

Haylie Duff (Hilary's sister) will be injecting a bit of spice into the WB's family-oriented drama "7th Heaven" as she comes onboard as a pregnant college student for the show's 10th season.

"I come into the show as Simon [David Gallagher]'s girlfriend's friend from college. She's like a total random girl that enters the family and basically needs their help," Duff said backstage at a Candie's event celebrating Hilary's new endorsement deal on Monday. "I actually start work on the show tomorrow, so I'm really excited about it."

The 20-year-old, who wrapped filming on the heiress-themed flick "Material Girls" with Hilary in May can't wait to sink her teeth into her first major television role. "It's cool because she's such a strong character. I am pregnant on the show, which is kind of crazy, and it's a big stretch for me, but I feel so lucky to be able to work with a cast on a show that is so well put together," she said.

Depp Wants Girlfriend To Propose To Him

Hollywood superstar Johnny Depp is desperate to marry his long-term love Vanessa Paradis - but he's waiting for her to make the all-important move.

The 41-year-old Finding Neverland actor admits the pair, who have been together for seven years and have two children Lily-Rose, 6 , Jack, 3, are already as good as husband and wife, but insists the proposal has to come from her.

He says, "For all intents and purposes we are married. We have two kids together and she is the woman in my life." "But if she ever said: 'Hey, let's get hitched,' I would do it in a second." "We'll do it if the kids want us to, or maybe when the kids are old enough to enjoy it with us."

But Depp has reservations about heading up the aisle with his girlfriend, because he'd hate to ruin her maiden name. He says, "It would be a shame to ruin her last name! It's so perfect - Vanessa Paradis. So beautiful." "It would be such a drag to stick her with Paradis-Depp. It's like a flat note."
