Hmmm

Rashida Jones, 31, plays Karen Filippelli on The Office. She is not only an actress, but also an accomplished model, writer and musician. She is the youngest daughter of Quincy Jones and Peggy Lipton.

Rumor has it that the actress is currently enjoying some holiday downtime on the Caribbean island of St. Barts and sheÂ’s not alone. She is reportedly in the company of fellow actor John Krasinski, who plays Jim Halpert on the weekly drama. The pair had previously been a couple and appear to have rekindled the romance.

Engagements!

They are known to bring good luck in the new year, but one Black-Eyed Pea got lucky early. After 3 years of dating, Fergie and Josh Duhamel are engaged, his rep confirmed.

"Fergie called a lot of her girlfriends today to tell them the news," a source close to the singer said. "She said they don't know what kind of wedding they want yet, but that she is the happiest girl on earth." The Las Vegas star's rep would say only that they got engaged "recently," but not on Christmas. TMZ.com first reported the engagement news Wednesday. Fergie was seen sporting a diamond ring on her all-important digit back in November, during the American Music Awards, but her rep denied the engagement rumors then. The couple celebrated Duhamel's 35th birthday last month with lots of love and little fanfare.

Tiffany “New York” Pollard — the outspoken star of VH1’s hit reality show I Love New York 2 — is going to become a Mrs. after all.

Pollard, 25, weeded through 20 eligible bachelors in season 2 of her dating reality show before she finally found a keeper. Her Mr. Right? “Tailor Made” (real name George Weisgerber), a 32-year-old retail planner from Queens, New York. Weisgerber proposed on the Dec. 17 finale, but Pollard turned him down, saying she wanted to wait 24 months before making any decisions about marriage. “I respected that,” Tailor Made said. “I cherish her. She’s what I need.” On season 2’s reunion show that airs Jan. 6, he proposes to her again and, this time, “she says yes,” a source said. “They are madly in love. They are a great couple.”

Weisgerber, who was separated while taping the show and is currently finalizing his divorce, admits he “always had a crush” on Pollard, and thought it fate when casting for season two began. “She needs a guy who will treat her right and respects her and values her for who she is, he said recently. “Our personalities complete each other. I cherish her and want to cater to her every need. But I’m not a doormat. We have a good balance.”

Huh?

Not everyone is being critical of Jamie Lynn Spears for being a promiscuous and reckless sixteen-year-old. Former Facts of Life star and born again Christian Lisa Whelchel is coming to Britney's sisters defense.

"I'm very passionate about wanting to speak out on behalf of this young girl," Welchel said. "She is a role model, but it's not her responsibility to be a role model. That's so much pressure on a 16-year-old." In fact, Welchel said she considers Spears a good role model for deciding to keep the baby. "I'm so proud of her for stepping up and being courageous and taking responsibility for her choices, and I believe she's being a good role model — a good role model in that situation, to choose to have the baby, and … I am supportive of her in that situation," Welchel said.

Welchel added that she thought the media were being too hard on Spears' mother, Lynne. "Because we are doing the best we can as moms," she said. "We really are. I know that she's doing the best she can as a mom as well."

Colbert Celeb of the Year?

While most TV characters remain boxed inside the frames of our sets, Stephen Colbert has routinely injected his on-screen persona into everything from the presidential race to ice cream.

In 2007, the mock pundit on Comedy Central's "The Colbert Report" exceeded the influence of most real pundits, orchestrating an ill-fated (and Doritos-sponsored) run for president and topping the best-seller lists with his book "I Am America (And So Can You!)." Colbert failed to get onto the primary ballot in his home state of South Carolina, dooming his hopes for the White House. And his show went 0-for-4 at the Emmy Awards, including an especially painful loss to Barry Manilow.

But Colbert did win one honor: He was voted AP Celebrity of the Year by newspaper editors and broadcast producers who said Colbert had the biggest impact on pop culture in 2007.

He finished just a nudge above J.K. Rowling, who authored the final book in her enormously popular "Harry Potter" series. Finishing third was Al Gore, whose year included an Oscar, an Emmy, a Nobel Peace Prize and the global concert Live Earth. Voting was otherwise spread out across many entertainers, including pop star Britney Spears, "Hannah Montana" star Miley Cyrus, rapper Kanye West, comedy director and producer Judd Apatow and country singer Kenny Chesney.

Ummm...

Jennifer Cannon and Doy Nichols of Lexington, Kentukcy married in the Charmin Restrooms in Times Square, New York City today. The wedding was part of Charmin's 2007 Wedding Dress Contest. Jennifer wore the winning dress by designer Hanah Kim. Hanah used Charmin Ultra Soft and Ultra Strong to make the gown.

Charmin paid for the couple's hotel and airlines accomodations. They will also provide the couple with a honeymoon.

Now, who's shocked that they are from Kentucky? (I am now patiently waiting for Iceman to yell at me. Ha).

T.O. says, "Stay Away!"

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Terrell Owens wants Jessica Simpson to stay far away from future games after her quarterback boyfriend Tony Romo's nightmarish performance that led to Sunday's 10-6 loss to the Eagles. "Right now [she's] not a fan favorite - in this locker room or in Texas Stadium," Owens fumed. That might be tough with love in the air. The night before the game, Romo brought Simpson to meet his folks and they all dined at Sushi Samba in Dallas. "Tony had his arm around Jessica and she had her hand on his knee. It seemed like his parents approved of her," said a spy.

Samantha Wouldn't Have Done This

Kim Cattrall, who's dripping in fur in the "Sex and the City" movie, wants those pesky PETA people off her back. So she's arranged to have all the pricey skins donated to the organization after filming is completed. PETA claims Cattrall, whose Samantha character is splashed with red paint by protesters in the flick, is "adamantly against fur. She once wore fur, but had a change of heart once she learned how animals are drowned in traps and electrocuted on fur farms," a PETA rep said. The donated skins will be marked by a red "X" on the back and given to the homeless.

Family Values

Britney Spears's 16-year-old sister Jamie Lynn Spears is pregnant. OK! Magazine has a six-page spread of BritneyÂ’s baby sister and mama, Lynne, which will slam (and no doubt) sell out on stands Wednesday.

In an exclusive with the weekly, Jamie Lynn reportedly reveals that the father is her long-time lover, 19-year-old Casey Aldridge. The pair were recently sighted house-hunting in Valencia, Calif.

And in related news:

--Britney Spears found out about her 16-year-old sister's pregnancy the same time everybody else did, a family friend says. "This is going to kill her," the friend said. "In the end, she'll be supportive, but this is a big shock."

--Lynne Spears's book about parenting has been put on hold, the publisher confirmed. "The book is delayed indefinitely. It's delayed, not cancelled," says a spokeswoman for Thomas Nelson, which publishes inspirational books and Bibles.

Too Many Ex-es

Jennifer Lopez was all smiles at Harvey Weinstein and Georgina Chapman's wedding - except when she got two blasts from the past in the form of ex-boyfriends. Among the celebs sending warm wishes via video to Weinstein and Chapman were two of Lopez's previous beaus, Ben Affleck and Sean "Diddy" Combs. "Jennifer was laughing at all the funny tributes," said one guest. "But when Diddy and Ben gave their speeches, she went silent. She looked sort of uncomfortable and people were staring at her." Lopez attended with husband Marc Anthony.

She Definitely Has a Heart

Nicole Kidman won substantial damages as well as an apology from the Daily Telegraph over a story that it published stating that she was promoting another perfume, instead of Chanel No. 5. Allegedly, Ms. Kidman was at her premiere of The Golden Compass and was wearing Jo MaloneÂ’s perfume at the event.

The good news is that she was successful in her lawsuit and sheÂ’s donating the funds to the United Nations Development Fund for Women.

(And no, she's not auditioning for the role of the Tin Man in a Wizard of Oz remake. Some poor stylist let her walk out of the house like that).

Good for Her

Heroes star Ali Larter and her longtime boyfriend, actor Hayes MacArthur, got engaged over the weekend.

"It's true," says a rep for the actress. "They're thrilled." This will be the first marriage for both. No wedding date has been set.

Larter, 31, has made it clear she has been more than ready for a proposal from MacArthur, who recently appeared in The Game Plan. "I told my boyfriend after three weeks that I wanted to marry him and that we could do it tomorrow," Larter recently said. "I look forward to that time when I'm home with babies."

She's a Joke

Pamela Anderson's quickie marriage to Paris Hilton's sleazy sex-tape partner, Rick Salomon, was briefly on the rocks. Just two months after the oddball lovebirds raced up the aisle, the aging "Baywatch" bombshell filed for divorce Friday in LA, citing "irreconcilable differences." But yesterday, she hinted all was well again, writing on her Web site, "We're working things out." Her rep said there would be no other comment. Both have horrible track records. Anderson was previously wed to Kid Rock and Tommy Lee, and Salomon was hitched to Shannen Doherty.

Celine's Out

Celine Dion called it a wrap at Caesars Palace Saturday night, acknowledging on her final show that pregnancy and poor early reviews almost sank her titanic five-year engagement.

While the show was still in development in 2000, Dion, 39, became pregnant and told husband-manager Rene Angelil she did not want to continue.

"I had a life for the first time," the French-Canadian chanteuse said in a video before her 717th show. "I knew then that I wanted to have more success as a mother than a singer."

But Angelil told her too much money and too many people were involved. Not only would the Colosseum cost $95 million to build, her initial three-year, $100 million contract broke records for a live entertainer.

Tickets for the final show were for sale on EBay for as much as $1,899. Taking Dion's place at Caesars Palace will be Bette Midler's "The Showgirl Must Go On," which is set to open Feb. 20.

Travolta's Out

John Travolta has been dropped from the "Dallas" movie after being promoted as the project's anchor for more than two years.

Insiders say that Travolta, who was just nominated for a Golden Globe for donning a fat suit for his drag role in "Hairspray," was "let go about two weeks ago. He had the role of J.R. Ewing taken from him and given to Ben Stiller."

However, a rep for Stiller denies the comic actor accepted or was offered the part. "John was given a nice seven-figure 'gift' to go away quietly," our source added. "He also got five family members roles in the movie, and they aren't going to be in it now, either."

Willsling?

Ryan Gosling was photographed last week with "Heroes" cutie Hayden Panettiere. But Tuesday night, he only had eyes for Heath Ledger's ex, Michelle Williams. The two had dinner at Piadina and were caught by onlookers having a cozy cigarette outside the West 10th Street eatery. The star of "Lars and the Real Girl" was "smiling and gazing at her," said a witness. Reps for both said they weren't on a date, but just discussing an upcoming film project they're working on together.
