Paris Ready To Puck?

Socialite Paris Hilton's recent man ban appears to be over - she's been spotted romancing a Canadian ice hockey player.

The hotel heiress, 25, was photographed holding hands with Colorado Avalanche goalkeeper Jose Theodore, 29, at the post-MuchMusic Video Awards party in Toronto, Canada on Sunday night.

An eyewitness tells website Canada.com the couple partied at the Ultra nightspot until the early hours of the morning and "were clearly into each other." Earlier this week, Hilton claimed she was staying single so she can spend time pampering herself.

McPhee's Battle

American Idol's Simon Cowell called runner-up Katharine McPhee's voice "the best of the competition." What hardly anyone knew, however, was that she'd risked destroying that voice: She'd struggled with bulimia for five years, and the self-induced vomiting could have taken away her ability to sing.

At her worst point, she was throwing up as many as seven times a day, which is like "putting a sledgehammer to your vocal cords," she said. Finally, after successfully auditioning for Idol last fall, McPhee, 22, decided to seek help. "When I made it onto American Idol, I knew that food – my eating disorder – was the one thing really holding me back," she says. "I was bingeing my whole life away for days at a time … So when I got on the show, I said, 'You know what? I can do well in this competition. Let me give myself a chance and just get ahold of this thing.' "

With the support of her parents, Peisha, 52, and Daniel, 57, and her actor boyfriend, Nick Cokas, 41, in October McPhee enrolled at Los Angeles's Eating Disorder Center of California, where she spent three months undergoing group and individual therapy, six days a week. "I knew I had put off going to a treatment center long enough – I'd been struggling with bulimia since I was 17," she says. "Growing up in Los Angeles and spending all those years in dance class, I'd been conscious of body image at a young age, and I went through phases of exercising compulsively and starving myself. … Food was my crutch; it was how I dealt with emotions and uncomfortable situations."

Finally, her program at the Eating Disorder Center helped her gain control of her relationship with food – but it wasn't easy. "I really had to surrender and give up having a free life to do the program, because I'd be there from 9 in the morning until 7 at night. … I remember that first night, my dad holding me, crying and saying, 'I don't know why you have to suffer through this, but it's going to be okay.' "

Now, McPhee, whose first single comes out June 27, has dropped 30 lbs. as a result of the "intuitive eating" approach she learned at the center. "I learned that there's no such thing as a bad food," she says. "If you look at a doughnut, people think it's a fattening food – why? Because if you eat it you'll get fat? No, you'll get fat if you eat 10 doughnuts." Although McPhee admits she's still learning to deal with stress – "I still bite my nails," she says – she's much happier these days. Of getting treatment for her illness, she says, "That's why I say American Idol saved my life, because if I hadn't auditioned I don't think I would have gotten a handle on food."

Get Well, Aaron

Aaron Spelling, producer of TV's "Beverly Hills, 90210" and "Charlie's Angels," suffered a stroke at his Holmby Hills estate over the weekend and was being treated at home, his publicist said Wednesday.

"He had a stroke Sunday at home," said spokesman Kevin Sasaki. "I don't know the extent of it. But if it had been some incredible degree, he would have been taken to the hospital."

Spelling, 83, was conscious and resting comfortably, Sasaki said. Spelling's wife, Candy, has been at his side. Sasaki said he wasn't aware of any paralysis.

Spelling also produced "Dynasty," Love Boat," "Melrose Place," "Fantasy Island," "Burke's Law," "The Mod Squad," "Starsky & Hutch," "T.J. Hooker," "Hart to Hart" and "Hotel."

--Further: Tori Spelling reconciled with her estranged father Aaron Spelling exactly one week before the TV legend suffered a stroke at his California home. On June 11, Tori visited her father at his Beverly Hills mansion for the first time in nine months and introduced him to her new husband Dean McDermott. Tori split with husband Charlie Shanian after 15 months of marriage, which reportedly caused her relationship with her family to become strained.

She explains, "I'm so over the moon that Dean and my dad finally met." The teary reunion was prompted by her father's ill health and helped along by Tori's brother, Randy. Before suffering his stroke, Aaron was diagnosed with oral cancer in 2001. Tori is still estranged from her mother, Candy, who was out of town when the visit occurred. She adds, "It's sad that my mother and I have the relationship we do, but you can't pick your family. I lost the last nine months of time with my dad because of the circumstances with my mom." Tori says of the reunion with her father, "It was as if a day hadn't gone by since we saw each other."

Movies On Your iPod?

Apple Computer is in talks with most of Hollywood's studios to offer movie downloads via its popular online iTunes Music Store, show business newspaper Daily Variety reported Monday.

Citing unnamed sources, Variety said iTunes might begin offering film downloads by the end of 2006, but currently a price on iTunes is a sticking point in negotiations. Apple's Chief Executive Officer Steve Jobs is said to want one flat price of $9.99 per movie, whereas studio executives want a range of prices that mirrors videos and DVDs at retail stores which, generally speaking, run from discount titles at a few dollars apiece up to $19.99 or more for new releases.

Spokespeople for Apple and most of Hollywood's big studios either declined to comment or were not immediately available. Putting movies for sale online via iTunes would seem a logical step for Hollywood's studios. Already, they offer movies online at websites like Movielink and CinemaNow, and Warner Bros. recently agreed to make movies available via BitTorrent.

But because iTunes is already widely used for downloading songs and television shows, the relatively new market for downloading movies would likely get a boost from the added exposure of being backed by iTunes.

The Feud Bubbles On

Jay-Z will exact revenge on his once-beloved Cristal Champagne at the concert celebrating the 10th anniversary of his classic album, "Reasonable Doubt," on Sunday.

We're told the rap icon will change the lyrics of some Cristal-plugging songs from "Reasonable Doubt" - "Can't Knock the Hustle," "Dead Presidents," "Feelin' It" and "Brooklyn's Finest" - when he performs them at Radio City Music Hall.

Meanwhile, the Beyoncé-dating president and CEO of Def Jam tells Page Six that he intends to stand by his decision last week to pull the pricey bubbly from his 40/40 Clubs in Manhattan and Atlantic City. "The response from our customers at 40/40 has been incredible," Jay-Z said in a statement. "This weekend, we sold more bottles of Krug and Perrier Jouet than [ever] and we expect that trend to continue. They are great products and we are glad they have embraced us with open arms."

Jay-Z spokesman Ron Berkowitz added, "You can bet that Cristal will not be in Jay's lyrics on Sunday. What will replace it, only he knows at the time, because he rhymes on the fly - so don't be surprised to hear something different."

Jay-Z popped his cork last week after Cristal honcho Federic Rouzard, the managing director of Louis Roederer Cristal, told The Economist that his company views its unsought association with the hip-hop world with "curiosity and serenity." The snooty Rouzard added, "We can't forbid people from buying it. I'm sure Dom Perignon or Krug would be delighted to have their business."

Jay-Z branded Rouzard's comments "racist" and vowed to "no longer support any of his products through any of his various brands, including the 40/40 Club nor in my personal life." Cristal issued a statement in a lame attempt to placate Jay-Z and others offended by Rouzard's comments: "A house like Louis Roederer would not have existed since 1776 without being totally open and tolerant to all forms of culture and art, including the most recent musical and fashion styles which - like hip-hop - keep us in touch with modernity," a company spokesman told allhiphop.com.

The Power of Blunt

While for some, hearing James Blunt's "You're Beautiful" one more time is reason enough to end it all, however, there is one little girl would beg to differ. Little Claudia De'Alwis, who survived a headfirst fall from the 15 ft high balcony, awoke from a coma while James Blunt's "You're Beautiful" played on the radio. The song was said to be the girl's favorite.

"Claudia loves You're Beautiful and she used to sing it all the time," said her father Paul, 40. "It was like her theme tune. Following the accident, the doctors warned us she might not make it, and after ten days in a coma we were desperately worried that she wasn't going to recover."

"But then the song came on the radio and she started to move for the first time, and we could tell she was starting to wake up. It was an unforgettable moment when she opened her eyes and acknowledged us at last. "Since then it's been tough but she hasn't looked back, she's a real fighter, and I'm sure that hearing the song she loves so much helped her come round."

The girl is still paralyzed in the right arm and leg, but she's seeing some movement improvement.

He Gets An "F"

Ever heard of the "Drunk Girlfriend Test?"

Butter co-owner Richie Akiva explained to Webster Hall's Baird Jones why he is no longer friends with Damon Dash, the hip-hop mogul who co-founded Rocawear.

"We were best friends. We had a house together. We were inseparable for two years," Akiva said at the party Jade Jagger hosted to launch her condominium tower on West 19th Street for such guests as Elle Macpherson, Calvin Klein, P.M. owner KyKy and Dash himself. When Dash's girlfriend, pop star Aaliyah, died in a 2001 plane crash, Akiva was the first person Dash called.

But, some time later, "He failed the drunk girlfriend test," Akiva said. "You mean where you left him alone with your girlfriend when she was drunk?" Jones asked. "Yeah," said Akiva. "She was someone to me. That is the ultimate test, and that's why we are no longer friends." Dash told Page Six through his spokeswoman: "I have absolutely no recollection of what he's talking about."

Blaine's Next Stunt

What's David Blaine's next stunt going to be? He's going to hang 135 feet above the water from the Brooklyn Bridge for a long period of time.

It was reported a few weeks ago that Blaine's next stunt would involve living with various dangerous animals in the jungle, but it looks like while that project is still in the works, it's going to be a documentary and not one of his stunts.

The New York Post reported that last week that he was hanging from the bridge with suspension wires. A stunt 135 feet above the East River, he said, will be the follow-up to his weeklong stay underwater.

Wouldn't That Be Cool?

Veteran actor Paul Newman is in negotiations to reunite with his Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid co-star Robert Redford for the last film of his illustrious career.

The pair, who have not worked together since 1973, are collaborating on a new project which may entice Newman to return to the big screen in his first major movie role in four years. Despite lending his voice to animated hit Cars, which is currently top of the US box office, Newman has kept a relatively low profile since Road To Perdition, and recently revealed he only has one film left in him.

But the 81-year-old hopes his swan song will see him re-team with Redford, revealing, "(We're) working on something but it's not by any means a slam-dunk. (It has to be) either a wonderful character in a wonderful film or a character that was acceptable in a film with some social content." Redford jokes, "The real question is whether he can remember his lines or not."

--I have my fingers crossed. They don't make teams like that anymore.

A source told Britain's Mail on Sunday newspaper: "This is a cause that Pamela is very passionate about. She wants to support Stella's fundraising effort for PETA and is in talks to pose naked in her shop window. There will be other models there too, and it should last for about ten minutes."

Nic Light

A new drink containing nicotine has been created for smokers who have to fly or find themselves in a place where they can't light up, according to a Local 6 News report.

Developers in California who invented Nic Light said the drink is the equivalent of smoking two cigarettes. Testers said it tastes like water, with a hint of lemon and nicotine.

"You know I think it's a good idea if it's going to keep smoke away from the people who don't like it," a traveler said. "It would make a difference," smoker Leo Kaiser said. "I would need a bigger bottle."

The drink is available at some terminals at LAX and is being stocked at other airports across the country, according to Local 6 News.

L. Lo v. P. Diddy

Lindsay Lohan and Sean Combs are at war.

At a private concert by Prince at Butter last Friday, when Lohan got up to argue with Paris Hilton over Stavros Niarchos, Puffy and his posse squeezed into her table. "There were only like six tables," a witness says. "Everyone was sharing, but Lindsay refused and began mixing it up with Puffy. His bodyguards came over and picked Lindsay up to get her out."

A member of Diddy's camp confirmed, "Lindsay was being so loud and obnoxious. His security became concerned and came over to escort her away."

MySpace Sued

A 14-year-old girl who says she was sexually assaulted by another user of MySpace.com sued the social networking Web site Monday, claiming it does not take sufficient steps to protect underage members.

The girl says a 19-year-old man lied in his profile about being a senior on a football team to gain her trust and phone number. Pete Solis was arrested in May on a charge of sexual assault of a child. He could not immediately be reached Monday evening.

The suit alleges that MySpace has “absolutely no meaningful protections or security measures to protect underage users.” “(MySpace) has got to take this seriously,” said attorney Carl Barry, who is representing the girl and her mother. The suit seeks $30 million.

Tori's A Bitch

Gasoline and a lighted match mix as well as Tori Spelling and the ex-wife of her new hubby, Dean McDermott.

Mary Jo Eustace was dumped last year by the actor after he fell for Spelling on a movie set. Now she’s shopping a tell-all. Sunday night, Eustace was ordered to leave the MuchMusic awards in Toronto after the billionaire heiress-actress threw a fit. “Tori, who was presenting, told the organizers either Mary Jo must go or she would,” said gossip columnist Shinan Govani, who escorted Eustace. “So we were secretly taken to an adjoining building to see it on TV, along with our own waiter and wine and shrimp.”

As they watched, Spelling joked to the audience how great it is being married to a Canadian: “They’re a lot nicer and they have nasty ex-wives who write tellall books. What more could a girl ask for?” Snapped Eustace to Govani: “Welcome to my life. I’m up against a dynasty.”

A disgusted Spelling told Page Six: “She plays the victim card over and over . . . It’s pathetic bordering on lunacy. I hope for the sake of her children she gains some self respect.”

--That outfit is horrendous! It looks like some cheap bathing suit cover up you'd buy in Daytona Beach.

Rap is real; there’s nothing pretentious about it. I’m very excited about appearing with Snoop. I think it’s great.”

JT's Back!

Get ready, ladies, Justin Timberlake has your "SexyBack."

The erstwhile 'N Syncer has announced plans to release his second solo effort, FutureSex/LoveSounds, via Jive Records on Sept. 12, with the first single, "SexyBack," going out to radio stations across the country July 7.

The collection is a follow-up to Timberlake's 2002 multiplatinum breakout, Justified, which debuted on the Billboard charts at number two, won two Grammys and has sold more than 3.5 million copies, per Nielsen SoundScan.

FutureSex/LoveSounds was cowritten and coproduced by the former boy-bander with assists from Timbaland and Nate Hills. Additional studio wizardry was provided by veteran producer Rick Rubin and Black Eyed Peas' emcee Will.i.am, who collaborated with Timberlake on the tracks under the moniker JAWBreakers, which the rapper explained to Billboard stands for "Justin and Will Breaks."

"It's Justin and I's production team when we do things together," he told the trade in January. "We did half of Justin's record and some songs on Macy Gray's new album." As for FutureSex' sound, Will.i.am declared nothing but admiration for the "Rock Your Body" singer's new direction and burgeoning superstardom.

"I can't explain it, that's how dope it is," the musician said in Billboard. "I was surprised that I was even going to like Justin Timberlake. Then he turned me into a fan, and I've become a fan."
