The real question is...does Joe the Plumber know Joe Sixpack or Barney Smith?

Leary Sounds Off

Denis Leary tackles autism, blaming parents for the brain disorder, in his new book, "Why We Suck: a Feel-Good Guide to Staying Fat, Loud, Lazy and Stupid," the New York Post's Page Six reported.

"There is a huge boom in autism right now because inattentive mothers and competitive dads want an explanation for why their dumb-ass kids can't compete academically, so they throw money into the happy laps of shrinks ... to get back diagnoses that help explain away the deficiencies of their junior morons," the "Rescue Me" star writes, calling such children "stupid" or "lazy" rather than autistic.

The Autism Society of America called the claims "ridiculous."

"For Mr. Leary to suggest that families or doctors conspire to falsely diagnose autism is ridiculous. ... [His] remarks reflect the same misconceptions of autism being caused by bad or unemotional parenting that were held over 50 years ago," the society responded, according to the New York Post.

In the book, Leary also rips on Dr. Phil, Paul McCartney and Heather Mills, as well as Hillary Clinton. "If she had changed her campaign motto from 'Blah Blah Something Change' to 'Vote for Me or Your Wife Won't [expletive] You,' she would have had the election wrapped up at sunset on Super Tuesday," Leary writes, according to the New York Post. "As Tip O'Neill once said - all politics is local. And for men, it doesn't get much more local than your crotch."

I may not agree w/ the contents, but I sure love the title.

Not Even Kabbalah Could Save Them

Madonna and Guy Ritchie are finally, officially, pulling the plug on their troubled eight-year marriage.

The sparring stars are expected to announce they are divorcing today, a source said. Because the celebrity couple live primarily in London, the divorce is expected to move through courts there - although it's considered likely the pair will come to a multimillion-dollar settlement, according to the source. Another source said the impending split comes after a last-ditch attempt by the pair to save their flailing union with an intensive kabbalah course in Manhattan.

British "Snatch" director Ritchie flew into New York a few weeks ago specifically to undergo instruction with his wife to try to patch things up, but to no avail, the source said. The news also broke in London via The Sun, with a source telling the newspaper that Madonna and Ritchie "can't bear to live with the pretense any longer. "It's very sad. They were a great couple and brilliant parents. They just couldn't live together.

"Despite huge attempts to patch things up, they both knew deep down that divorce was in the cards. It wasn't a matter of 'if' but 'when.' They tried hard over the past few months, but their fighting was getting out of control. "The final straw came before Madonna started her US tour."

The British paper said the 50-year-old singer wanted to wait to announce the pair's split until after her global "Sticky and Sweet" tour. But their fighting got so bad that Ritchie, 40, just wanted out, and Madonna finally agreed, the tabloid said. The pair has three children between them: Lourdes, 12, Madonna's daughter from her relationship with actor and personal trainer Carlos Leon; and Ritchie and Madonna's sons, Rocco, 8, and David, 2.

The pair has bitterly fought over everything from their kids to where they should live: the United States or England, sources said. Madonna wanted to be back in the States more, as did Lourdes so she could see her father, The Post's sources said. Madonna also reportedly wants to adopt another child, which Ritchie is against.

A representative for the pair did not return a phone call or e-mail from The Post last night. When reached by The Sun, a spokeswoman for Madonna declined comment.

The reported split comes after months of speculation over Madonna's cozy relationship with Yankee slugger Alex Rodriguez, whose estranged wife, Cynthia, said the singer had "brainwashed" her hubby. C-Rod told a pal she believes that her kabbalah-loving husband and Madonna had an "affair of the heart." Meanwhile, Madonna and Ritchie raised eyebrows just two days ago when Ritchie failed to appear at the New York premiere of a comedy Madonna directed, "Filth and Wisdom."

UPDATE: "Madonna and Guy Ritchie have agreed to divorce after seven-and-a-half years of marriage. They have both requested that the media maintain respect for their family at this difficult time," says a statement given to the AP.

Dressed Down Draper

Here's a pic of Jon Hamm (aka Don Draper) walking his dog with his longtime girlfriend.

How weird is it to see him in regular clothes instead of suit and tie? And, on that note, who else is LOVING this season of Mad Men? Finally, Betty grew a pair. (Well, sort of). We're finally delving in to Draper's dark character (very Sopranos). And, I must ask for more Joan!!! She is the bomb! Who else out there is watching?

Something Else for My DVR

It's official: Whitney Port's getting her own show.

The Hills star will headline MTV's The City, which will track her journey from Los Angeles to New York City, the network announced Thursday. The show is set to air next spring.

According to the release, Port, now a Diane Von Furstenberg employee, reunites with "a best friend from her past" and meets "a guy she's head-over-heels for." "Surrounded by all new friends, pursuing a fresh love life and starting to work in the upper echelon of the fashion industry is a lot to navigate for a new girl in the big city... especially one who has everything to lose," the release reads. "In a city full of people with their own agendas, Whitney will have to quickly decide who she can trust and who to stay away from."

In a statement, Port said: "I am thrilled and honored to be in New York City, not only working for one of the most renowned fashion designers, Diane Von Furstenberg, but to be able to mature as a young woman both professionally and personally."

Platt Heading to Broadway

Broadway has found its Nathan Detroit for the upcoming revival of "Guys and Dolls" - Oliver Platt.

Platt will portray the unapologetic gambler in the classic Frank Loesser musical that will open March 1 at the Nederlander Theatre, producer Howard Panter announced Wednesday. The production will begin preview performances Feb. 3 at the renovated Nederlander, for more than a decade the home of "Rent."

No word yet on who will play the show's three other lead characters - Sky Masterson, Sarah Brown and Miss Adelaide. The show's last Broadway revival of the musical, in 1992, featured a cast that included Nathan Lane and Faith Prince.

Platt made his Broadway debut in 2006 in Conor McPherson's "Shining City," for which he received a best-actor Tony nomination. He has appeared in such TV series as "Huff" and "The West Wing," and will be seen in the film version of "Frost/Nixon."

"Guys and Dolls" will be directed by Des McAnuff and feature choreography by Sergio Trujillo. McAnuff, artistic director of Canada's Stratford Shakespeare Festival, worked with Trujillo on the current Broadway success, "Jersey Boys."

"Guys and Dolls," which has a score by Loesser and a book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows, originally opened on Broadway in 1950.

Holly's No Longer #1

Hugh Hefner is speaking out about his split from Girls Next Door star Holly Madison.

"I had planned to spend the rest of my life with Holly," Hefner said. After the break-up, "I was road kill a couple of weeks ago," he said.

One persistent strain in the relationship was Holly's desire to have children.
"We tried to have a baby earlier this year and it didn't work out," he said. "She
became very depressed."

Madison, 28, confirmed the break up from Hef, 82, Tuesday. "Hef and I aren't together," she told TMZ.com cameras. But, she said she, Kendra Wilkinson and Bridget Marquardt are "still filming stuff together. We're having fun."

Of their upcoming sixth season, she added, "It's going to be even better. We love season five, but I think every season gets better."

There is no official word on how much Fey will be pocketing for her work – pitched as more humor than memoir. But earlier this week, the New York Post reported that competing publishers were offering close to $6 million.

Angie's New Tats

As could be expected, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt proved quite an eyeful at Saturday's New York premiere of her new movie, Changeling, directed by Clint Eastwood.

But, in fact, there was even more to meet the eye on the leading lady: two new tattoos – to complement her ink indicating global birth coordinates of children Maddox, Pax, Zahara and Shiloh.

Jolie has had the July 12 French birthplace of twins Knox and Vivienne enscribed twice on her left shoulder beneath the latitude and longitude of their other children.
