Great Parenting

Red Hot Chili Peppers' frontman Anthony Kiedis says he lost his virginity when he was 12 - to his father's girlfriend.

Kiedis reveals in a new autobiography that his father, a one time Hollywood cocaine dealer called Blackie Dammet, was always bringing home new girlfriends.

The singer's ghostwriter, Larry 'Ratso' Sloman, told the New York Post: "His girlfriends were always young, hot girls.

"One night, when Anthony was 12, he went with his father to the Rainbow Room and Blackie's girlfriend is there dancing for him.

"And Anthony asks: "Dad, can I have my first sexual experience with your girlfriend?" And Blackie says: "Sure, son!"

--Lovely.

3 Is a 12 year old really going to use the phrase "my first sexual experience"? It just doesn't sound real to me. Not saying it isn't what really happened...just something's tweaking my BS-ometer.

Posted by: jen at October 04, 2004 02:51 PM (C31gH)

4 With all the booze and drugs Kiedis has done he's likely just remembering that he had sex and putting in more modern phrasing. Or it could be pure BS, but with guys like him it's hard to tell.

6 This breaks my heart because I love Anthony Kiedis. But I suppose if he didn't have all that shit that happened in his past to learn from then he wouldn't be the man he is today.

12 What I know is that this was the most profound, articulate, honest no excuse book anyone could write about themselves. I have been a devote rhcp fan for years. I have also read many biographie and autobios from artist from all ages and all genras who have experienced trials and tribulations and not one has touched me as Scar tissue did. I laughed i cried. I too had a subsance abuse problem for many years and as soon as I entered the pages of his book I felt I had entered a parallel universe. You don't know unitil you live it. He is a remarkable, talented, intelligent being who deserves massive props for telling his story with such cando, prowse and verse. Peple who love his music and understand his music are true fans. yes, he is an attractive person but it is key to remember that he is just as human as you and I. He didn't have to share his life's experiences with the public. but I do believe he felt by sharing his story would possibly reach someone else to save their life. He certainly didn't glamorize his troubles at all. He mentioned he wouldn't change any of the eperiences he had in his past becasue they created the man he is today. i have felt the same throughout mu spiral addiction. I too am sober today ay 32 years of age-- but I honestly wouldn't change a thing of my past except the pain I caused on my loved ones as AK stated. So see the man for more than a musical killer wickedly talented front man for a rockin band. See him as a person too. I had the opportunity to have backstage at several of his venues but I never actually got to meet him. Til the day I die I hope and pray for a chance encounter to meet this man who is one of a kind. I have crossed paths with some wonderful musicians and artists but AK is truly in a mold all to himself. I hope to God one day he will read this and see how a true fan really feels. not a fan only for his music, talent, style, and grace, but also his integrity and honest approach in life. Thanks for listening

13 anthony kiedis a man to look up to! im not saying to do drugs, but if you do drugs,to stop like he did,he has the best voice ever, the best looks ever and is the most talented person ever,im near the end of scar tissue and it is the best book i have ever read.im a true chili pepper fan and i will be for life! and as a true chili fan i believe that he lost his verginity at 12! if you were offered to sleep with him, would you? i know i would!

Posted by: no.1 chili fan at January 03, 2005 12:14 PM (bDaMQ)

14 p.s.his music is the best ever!

Posted by: no.1 chili fan at January 03, 2005 12:15 PM (bDaMQ)

15 anthony-if you are reading this which i hope you are i would really love you to come and play at the millenium stadium,in cardiff! i missed the last time you played there, because the tickets sold out to quickly!,which broke my heart, please come!

Posted by: anthony lover! at January 03, 2005 12:23 PM (bDaMQ)

16 I am responding again to AK and his book. I have read and heard many people comment on his life story(up to this point) and let it be known that Mr. AK didn't glamorize his addiction nor did he make excuses. Nor did he suggest people follow in his footsteps. He was showing his struggles, his happiness, and his survival. He has no regrets which he shouldn't because his past experiences created the man he is today> I have read several autobios and bios on different artists, and not one of them moved me to audible laughter and tears. He has talents beyond the stars. Not many would want to share personal stories of their life with a world of strangers. But his integrity and respect for self shine through. Yes, he is a physically beautiful man, intelligent, sensitive, and honest. But never loose sight of his inner beauty it is just as great. i have been a fan of the music from day one, I have been a fan of the band-- but I have and will always remain a true AK fan. I had the opportunity of having backstage at a venue in Denver years ago but was sheepishly awe struck. I had never experienced not having the courage to approach someone-- but this night I did. i literally felt like I was stuck in quicksand. I am telling anyone out there that I regretted that and still do today. if you ever get the opportunity to meet Anthony take advantage of it. But not as a groopie but as a person who respects and admires a man of his stature. i know if I ever recieve the opportunity again I will not act like a bump on a log but flat out let him know what a wonderful addition to the human race I feel he is. When reading Scar Tissue I said at times I felt I entered a parallel universe. I will hold this to be true. I hope those of you take his book and his music for what it really is-- from the soul...

Posted by: caroline at January 03, 2005 11:07 PM (7tw14)

17 hey caroline, what you said is so from the heart! i adore anthony kiedis and his music! im reading scar tissue and near the end of it! it has really touches me! how did you get the chance to meet him? have you seen him live?

Posted by: mrs kiedis (i wish) at January 04, 2005 10:33 AM (OkYkn)

18 Dear Mrs Kiedis (i wish): Thanks for the response. I was fortunate to have backstage at a venue in Denver. years ago) But when I saw him there I literally froze up. That was the point-- I don't know why but I became foolishly mesmerized by his presence. I wish I had acted differently and said something which more than likely would have come out as uhhhh... . As I said I have been a true follower and hold even more respect after reading the book. So, again, I will always regret not kicking myself in the ass to approach this man. Today the ass kicking is still happening but not moving me too far! I hope and pray for another opportunity to cross paths with him and I guarantee I will say something this time. I so hold true to my feelings previously stated and I do hope that others see him in the same light I do. I just wish I could tell him in person.

Posted by: caroline at January 05, 2005 11:14 PM (23Qtc)

19 yeah,if i have the chance to meet him ever,id go for gold! its a once in a life time chance to meet the hottest, sexyist man in the universe! i hope you and me get a chance to meet him in the close future! i also think john (guitarist) is fuckin lush!

35 Anthony, if you happen to come accross this site, please, read this: I read your book, it is amazing...it made me laugh, cry and be an even bigger fan of the Red Hots than I already was. But there is one thing I was wondering about, my parents both have hepatitus C and the doctors say they both only have a few yrs left. I have 2 little brothers. In your book you say you had it too and that you took some meds for it and they cured it. PLEASE TELL ME WHAT THEY WERE AND WHERE I CAN GET THEM! Love you, always a fan, Maria

36 maria-- he partakes in the ozone treatment as well as does some nutritional supplements which he wrote about in the book-- im not speaking for him but i have heard of others who have tried the sinilar approach and succeeded with the same results-- if i were you i'd research the ozone treatemt on-line. Alas, hopefully Ant will read your comment and have additional info-- good luck

44 I alsowould like to add that i never payed attention to way music was played out the flow of it but i hear RHCP for the first time glass eyed it touched mee in a i ha never been before and for that surreal moment i was there watching them. I have OCD and my simptotms are a little awkeward so i wont go into detail but there music his made made unbearable life bearable. I also like to point out that the anton the swan isn't my favorite member in the band although i love his voice and lyrics ive always liked flea the most.He made me start to play bass and inspired me to be more articulate. I know that they will not see this but Guys I want you to know how much appreciate your music if it wasnt for your music i may not have been here today. THx for patin attenion
