R+b star Ashanti has a drastically different career planned if her chart success ever ends - a coroner.

The singer, 24, was considering studying forensic science at college before Murder Inc record boss Irv Gotti catapulted her to fame in 2002 when she duetted with labelmate JA Rule on Always On Time.

Ashanti enthuses, "I wanted to major in business management and minor in forensic science. "I watched Court Tv, I watched Autopsy, I watched Forensic Files, all of that. I was fascinated by it.

"If you can cut someone's stomach open and see the peas and they haven't digested and that can tell you what time they died, I'm amazed by that."
