Run, Matt, Run!

As correctly noted by Iceman yesterday, Paris Hilton has been recently seen out and about with Heisman Trophy winner Matt Leinart.

Here's a rundown of all the drama: Paris & Stavros: Their Final Days

Monday, April 17
Hilton hosts a 21st-birthday bash for Niarchos and 100 friends at her Beverly Hills home. (She held additional parties for her beau in Las Vegas on April 21 and April 22.)

Thursday, April 27
Paris flies to Austria. That night, Niarchos is spotted with Lohan outside a private party in Beverly Hills.

Sunday, April 30
While Hilton parties at Austrian nightclub Pascia, Niarchos visits Lohan at the Chateau Marmont, where sheÂ’s staying during her Just My Luck press tour.

Monday, May 1
Paris flies back to L.A. and hangs out with Leinart. The two then hit L.A.Â’s Shag, where Niarchos spots them.

Tuesday, May 2
At 3:30 a.m., Niarchos and Hilton get into a screaming match at her gate. She doesn’t want to let him in. He won’t leave – and winds up sprawled on the ground. (He finally hops in a cab at 9 a.m.) Hilton’s rep confirms the split later that day.

MK Thinks L. Lo Is Creepy

Don't seat Lindsay Lohan and Mary-Kate Olsen at the same table.

Lohan was walking the red carpet at the Met Costume Institute gala Monday night when Olsen arrived. "MK looked like she wanted to die when she saw Lindsay," said our spy. "She hung back and refused to get close . . . She clearly did not want to be near Lindsay and made an effort to not get close. It was odd."

Later, another source explained: "MK is very suspicious of Lindsay. Lindsay always e-mails her. She is always trying to find out from others who she is dating - MK thinks she's creepy."

Jessica's Blunt Flirting

Newly-single Jessica Simpson is hoping a chance meeting with British popstar James Blunt ends more happily than the brief encounter he croons about in his megahit, "You're Beautiful."

While at the MTV Australia Video Music Awards, says a friend of Jessica, she "was determined to meet him," and gave Blunt, 29, her cell phone number and e-mail address. "She was glowing the rest of the night," says the source. "Obviously Jess goes for the sensitive singers." And if James doesn't call or email, the source told Star that Jessica hopes to see James when he's in California for an April 30 gig.

Reality Therapy

Troubled reality star Paula Meronek (pictured) says The Real World saved her. She says her TV roomies made her face her demons -- bulimia, an abusive boyfriend -- and get help. Sure, she's still taking diet pills and the boyfriend remains a fixture. Plus, she's doing promotional visits to bars around the country, in the obligatory 15-minutes-of-fame tour every Real Worlder seems compelled to take. But she says she's better. But she says she's better. Do we, the viewership -- feel better too? Should we?

It's a question worth pondering, precisely because reality TV continues to erase the distinctions between public and private spheres, between television drama and real-life malaise. The pathetic and distressed make excellent television, and the pressure on producers and networks to recruit ever more unstable specimens for their broadcast zoos is only going to increase. Eventually, we may watch one "edgy" show where borderline personalities tear each other limb from limb (cue "edgy" music), and then follow it with a palliative "uplifting" show where Ty Pennington gathers up those torn limbs and sews them into a bright shiny new human being (cue Forrest Gump theme).

Who knows? Maybe this will end up bringing us all closer together as a species. Maybe this is the digital utopia we've been waiting for.

No Manners

At yesterday's matinee of the Brian Friel play, "The Faith Healer," phones went off not once, not twice, but four times.

Back in Dublin, where the drama played to sold-out houses, New York magazine reported that a cellphone trilled one night during Ralph Fiennes' final monologue, prompting him to shout, "Turn that [bleep]ing thing off!"

Yesterday, reports The Post's Barbara Hoffman, he and co-stars Cherry Jones and Ian McDirmid - whose monologues were also interrupted - remained stoically in character. Members of the audience, however, were beginning to come unglued.

Battle of the Trumps

Fearful of a dilution of his powerful brand, Donald Trump is fighting his ex-wife Ivana's bid to trademark her name for use in the real estate business.

U.S. Patent and Trademark Office records show that Trump recently lodged a formal opposition to his former wife's application to trademark the term "Ivana Trump." In a March 21 filing, Donald (who is identified as the "famous real estate developer") argues that issuance of the trademark sought by his ex would be "confusingly similar" to his own valuable handle. Ivana filed her trademark application in September 2004, but it wasn't until the mark was "published" in February that USPTO proceedings could be started by anyone seeking to challenge the requested trademark.

On March 21, Trump filed his opposition, a copy of which you can find below. According to the millionaire developer, despite the pair's 1992 divorce and her "intervening marriage," Ivana has "chosen to keep Mr. Trump's surname" and is now "attempting to go into business--the identical line of business as Mr. Trump--using the TRUMP name and trademark." The "Apprentice" host claims that he has used the Trump name "in connection with a multitude of high-profile real estate projects" since 1964, when Trump turned 18.

In an April 28 answer to her former husband's opposition, Ivana denies that a new Trump trademark would cause confusion, adding that her continuing use of his surname "has been undertaken with the consent and acquiescence" of The Donald.

Not Too Surprising

Eminem's wife, Kim Mathers, has filed a response to the rap superstar's divorce request, asking for financial support, attorney fees and joint custody of the couple's 10-year-old daughter.

Her lawyer, Michael J. Smith, filed the counter-complaint last Wednesday in Macomb County Circuit Court. The filing shed no light on why the couple are divorcing, the Detroit Free Press reported on its website Tuesday.

She asks for Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Bruce Mathers III, to pay the mortgage, insurance and utilities for the couple's Clinton Township home. She also seeks physical custody of their daughter, Hailie Jade Scott, and child support.

Brit's Press Conference

Britney Spears will hold a press conference on Thursday, but even her closest aides have no idea what she's going to announce.

The superstar has invited selected media representatives, journalists and record industry executives to the Los Angeles Convention Center. The 24-year-old has not revealed what the subject matter of the press conference will be, but it is widely anticipated she will officially announce her second pregnancy with husband Kevin Federline.

Sony executive Karen Phillips says, "Britney hasn't held a press conference in so long that we know it's something big - pregnancy, a split, we're not sure."

Jive Records and Spears' management team are reportedly planning to release her fifth album in November, and a world tour is tentatively scheduled for 2007.

Payback's a Bitch

Mary Jo Eustace's life fell apart when her cheating husband dumped her for Tori Spelling three weeks after he met the blond television star - and now she's getting sweet revenge.

A jaw-dropping tell-all being shopped by the 45-year-old Canadian sitcom actress dishes the dirt on Dean McDermott and how he bedded the also-married "So NoTORIous" star only months after he and Eustace adopted a baby girl, Lola.

Her book proposal for "My Husband Left Me for Tori Spelling" begins with McDermott, 38, her actor-husband of 12 years, jetting off to shoot the Lifetime flick "Mind Over Murder" with Spelling, then returning to coldly inform her he'd slept with his co-star and, "We're soul mates. She loves me unconditionally . . . I don't love you any more. And I don't respect you. I haven't for a very long time."

"Wasn't it just two months ago that he'd said he'd never been more in love with me or proud of me?" writes Eustace, who'd moved from Canada to California so McDermott could chase his dreams of stardom. Adding insult to injury, she claims, he got a "Truly, Madly, Deeply, Tori" tattoo on his wrist - but he didn't have money to pay his wife's electric bills.

Still, when Eustace met the adulteress who stole her man, she turned out to be "quite likable . . . [I ended up] feeling sorry for Tori" over what actually lies in store for her and McDermott. Eustace found herself getting turned on by Tori's soon-to-be-ex, Charlie Shanian. She writes of herself, "Could she one day fall for Charlie? The one man who knows exactly what she's going through?" Her proposal never answers that question.

Eustace, who has a 7-year-old son with McDermott, does take one bitter slap at TV titan Aaron Spelling's daughter, who starred in "Beverly Hills 90210," suggesting Tori is a "has-been" or "never-was." Last night, Tori and McDermott, who are engaged, fumed in a joint statement: "This is the first we've heard of [the book proposal]. It's opportunistic and undignified that she would want to exploit her former marriage for monetary gain. We only wish her the very best."

Life Imitating Art

The Sopranos actors John Ventimiglia and Louis Gross have both been arrested on unrelated charges.

Ventimiglia - who plays chef Artie Bucco on the hit TV show - was arrested in the early hours of Monday morning on suspicion of drink driving and possessing cocaine. The 37-year-old was pulled over after the Volkswagen car he was driving swerved without its headlights on. The arresting officer said the actor smelled of alcohol and his speech was slurred. Subsequent tests found a blood alcohol level of 0.12 per cent - the legal limit in the US is 0.08 per cent - and Ventimiglia was allegedly carrying a small plastic bag containing the residue of a white powder believed to be cocaine. Ventimiglia protested his innocence and has been released while a court date is set. His lawyer Benjamin Petrofsky says in a statement: "John feels terrible and embarrassed. Until we gather all the information we will have no further comment."

Louis Gross, who portrays bodyguard Perry Annunziata, was arrested on Sunday for allegedly breaking into a New York City property. Gross was released on Monday without bail. He told reporters, "I don't know nothing. I'm innocent. I'm always innocent." Ventimiglia and Gross are not the first Sopranos to really fall foul of the law. Star Vincent Pastore pleaded guilty in November to attempting to assault his girlfriend, while Lillo Brancanto Jr. - who played an up and coming mobster - faces murder charges after a police officer was shot dead following a bungled robbery.

Nicole To Sign Prenup?

Reports have varied on a wedding between the Aussie power couple of Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman almost since the pair began dating. Now the fishbowl and family pressures may be taking its toll on the two big earners.

Life & Style Weekly will report in its Friday release that the pressure of a prenuptial agreement has caused the reported summer wedding for Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, both 38, to hit a roadblock and it's coming from NicÂ’s family.

Her parents have been pressuring the big-bucks actress to sign a prenuptial agreement. “So far she’s resisted them — and dodged the issue with Keith,” says a friend of Nicole’s. “Nic’s a romantic and doesn’t like the idea of a marriage contract.”

Bruce Says...

Bruce Willis believes he will die a bachelor - because he can't commit to one woman. The Die Hard star - who has had a string of failed romances since splitting from ex-wife Demi Moore in 2000 - thinks he will be single for the rest of the days because he's so bad at relationships.

He said: "I'm going to go out a bachelor. Truth is, I have doubts about my ability to maintain a relationship necessary for a marriage to work. If I know anything about myself, I know that."

Mr. T's Back!

TV Land has greenlit "I Pity the Fool," a reality show starring Mr. T as a Dr. Phil-style help guru, and "Back to the Grind," featuring TV actors like Erik Estrada and Loni Anderson as they try to tackle the jobs their characters performed on TV.

Network will announce those, as well as several new series and specials, during its portion of MTV Networks' upfrontupfront presentation to advertisers today in New York.

In "I Pity the Fool," Mr. T will help everyday folks from car salesmen who need to meet quotas, to parents who need chaperones for their daughters. CablerCabler has ordered six episodes from Lionsgate TV, which will produce in association with Left/Right Films and Remag Guerrilla. Half-hour premieres in October.

Nick at Nite/TV Land senior VP Sal Maniaci said more so than previous Nick at Nite reality effort "Chasing Farrah," "I Pity the Fool" will strike a balance between heartwarming and funny. "He really gets in there and does some good, dolling out advice T-style," said Maniaci, who added that the cabler will likely run marathons of "The A-Team" around the premiere.

Nick and Jessica To Reconcile?

Have Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey been caught in a romantic tryst? That's what a report suggests as apparently the pair have been sneaking off to the San Fernando Valley to meet in what is described as 'discreet hotels."

One of those is gossip king Mike Walker and as earlier reported by Lynda Johnson he writes that the pair are meeting at discreet hotels in the Valley and he writes that Jessica reportedly dished to a source: "We still have our problems, but we're still very attached to each other." She continued, according to the source by adding "We still have the need for love and affection."

The report says that Jessica is shy about the whole affair - or really non-affair as they are still legally married. Walker even reiterates his 10-1 prediction that the pair will never divorce and will reunite.

Barkley Tends Bar

It may be a while before NBA great and TNT announcer Charles Barkley crashes a Fox Sports party again.

When the 76ers legend ditched his own network's bash at ESPN Zone in Times Square for the Fox gang at Langan's on West 47th, Fox Sports Chairman David Hill bet him he couldn't pour a proper pint of Guinness and challenged him to stay behind the bar until he could.

As Troy Aiken, Howie Long and Joe Buck watched in amusement, Barkley failed the task - and ended up tending bar for four hours. "He was having lots of fun," said our spy, who noted that Barkley's skills at making other drinks were as good as his slam-dunks.
