Josh Hartnett is furious with girlfriend Scarlett Johansson for partying with That '70s Show star Wilmer Valderrama. The Lucky Number Slevin actor was reportedly so worried that he kept calling the Lost In Translation star to check up on her.
A source told New York Daily News newspaper: "Wilmer was out in the Hamptons for a party and arranged for a helicopter for Scarlett to come out, too. It was just to hang out, but Josh was not psyched about it.
The source added: "Finally Scarlett just handed her phone to Wilmer and said, 'Talk to Josh. Tell him we're friends'."
Valderrama - whose ex-girlfriends include Lindsay Lohan, Mandy Moore and Ashlee Simpson - was hosting a lavish party in the exclusive New York neighborhood at trendy venue Star Room. The partygoers then moved onto hip nightspot Boutique for a friend's birthday celebration.

Don't expect to see Jeremy Piven puffing on a cigarette any time soon.
The "Entourage" party boy was wandering the beach in Malibu the day after attending Lindsay Lohan's 20th birthday blowout when several twentysomethings at a Smashbox Cares soiree offered him what appeared to be a "blunt" - a hollowed-out cigar filled with marijuana.
"Piven gladly partook but then realized it had tobacco in it," says our bemused spy. "He launched into a tirade about how smoking ages you. He was with people in their 20s telling them he looked younger than them and took off his sunglasses so they could inspect his skin." Piven turns 41 this month.

Freddie Prinze Jr. has seen the dark side of teen girlhood.
"I was in the Vancouver airport, and I was speaking with a young girl," the actor told Webster Hall's Baird Jones at the Vonage V Phone party at Aer nightclub. "She asked if I was Freddie Prinze Jr., and I said I was. She kind of giggled, and while I was talking with her, her girlfriend ran up and took my sandwich. I did not call out after her. I didn't know what to do. I had never had anyone steal food from me before. How do you react if someone takes your sandwich? I just finished my cup of coffee and got on the plane and flew home."

David Blaine says holding his breath for seven minutes is nothing compared to his latest challenge: encouraging kids to read.
As a child, the master magician went to the Park Slope library after school to wait for his mom to pick him up after work. That's where he started reading about Houdini. And that's why he's a spokesman for the New York State Summer Reading Program. Blaine is spending more time with librarians than supermodels, visiting libraries and telling kids about how books can change lives.

Do't Hassel the Hoff! "Baywatch" star David Hasselhoff was barred from Wimbledon because he was "steaming drunk," reports The London Sun.
He had a series of clashes with security staff, who would not let him in because he didn't have a ticket. Hasselhoff, 53, who's had a long battle with booze, had his arm in a brace and yelled: "You should let me in. Do you know who I am? I'm the Hoff!" Hasselhoff was eventually let in after actor pal Michael Brandon bought him a Centre Court ticket to watch champ Roger Federer.

Robert Downey Jr., whose own life story at times has been gripping, intends to write his memoirs.
The 41-year-old actor has signed a deal with HarperEntertainment, an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers, the company announced Thursday. The book is set to be released in 2008. The publisher, which did not disclose the terms of pact, promised a "candid look at the highs and lows of his life and career."

"His dramatic personal life, often at odds with his career, adds a layer of complexity to who he is."
He suffered from recurring drug and alcohol problems in the 1990s, prison time, court-ordered rehab and probation that ended in 2002.

Nicky Hilton is getting into the hotel business.
"I've always wanted to do it," says the lodging heiress who plans to renovate two existing buildings to open the "Nicky O" on Miami's famed Ocean Boulevard in November. "I've been around hotels my whole life, and I know a good hotel when I see one."
Shortly after, her second Nicky O will open on Chicago's historic Printer’s Row. "Miami will definitely be a party destination, and Chicago will be a little more calm," she says. The 94-room boutique/condo accommodation will include entertainment news tickers in the elevators, a signature scent and rooms deigned by friends – including $5,000-a-night penthouse by clothing designer Roberto Cavalli.
Although Hilton, 22, comes from a family with an expertise it hotels, she isn't partnering with the clan to fund her new project. "I'll go to my family for advice, but theyÂ’re not involved at all," she says of her parents, brothers, and sister Paris.
Still, she is a Hilton: Borrowing a phrase from sister Paris, Nicky says of the Miami hotel's lobby, which will include a giant chandelier at its center and lots of marble: "Its just so beautiful – and hot."
--I'll be interested to check out the one in Chicago when it's complete.

Eminem is continuing to pay tribute to his friend, late D12 member and Detroit rap ambassador Proof.
Em and the rest of the Shady Records family have set up BigProof4Ever.com, where T-shirts and a poster bearing Proof's likeness and the words "Big Proof Forever 1973-2006" are being sold. The shirts and poster are designed by graphic artist Shepard Fairey, who started his anti-authority Obey Giant campaign in the 1980s. All proceeds from the Web site go to the Big Proof Forever Foundation, an organization that will benefit Proof's five children.
The site also features some of the words Eminem spoke at his friend's funeral. "Right now, there's a lot of people focusing on the way he died," Eminem says in one clip from the April service. "I want to remember the way he lived. Proof was funny, he was smart, he was charming. He inspired everyone around him. He can never, ever be replaced. He was, and always will be, my best friend."
Proof was shot and killed on April 11 at a Detroit after-hours club by Mario Etheridge after an argument between Proof and Etheridge's cousin, Keith Bender, turned violent. Police say Proof killed Bender during the incident. In May, a Detroit prosecutor said Etheridge, who was a bouncer at the CCC nightclub where Proof was shot, acted in his cousin's defense.
