Ang Says...

Ang Lee, the director of the much-talked-about gay cowboy flick "Brokeback Mountain," couldn't give a damn about anything but his movie.

Asked by the San Francisco Bay Times whether he thought the gay subject matter could have a negative impact on the careers of Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal, Lee responded, "I don't care if this movie dooms the rest of their careers . . . All I cared about was that they performed for me."

2 Personally, I really want to see the movie, but I'd have to think both actors knew going in that they'd be taking a risk with this material. I can't say I blame Ang Lee for caring more about the finished product than playing father-figure.
