Anna's New Gig

Tennis babe Anna Kournikova has landed a new job as Elle magazine's new fitness guru. The Russian-born stunner is thrilled with her new job, because it gives her a fresh incentive to find new work-outs to help her stay lean and trim.

In her inaugural column, which appears in the June issue of Elle, Kournikova admits she has struggled to stay in shape since announcing a hiatus from tennis to correct back and foot problems.

She writes, "As I've shifted from an intense training schedule to a more moderate pace... I'm suddenly facing the real issues of a nonprofessional athlete - which means worrying about how often I should hit the gym and what I need to incorporate into my diet and figuring out what fitness and food combination works best for me. "Finally I can risk some new activities (such as rock climbing and Yogalates) without fearing that I'll get hurt and be sidelined, and report back on how rigorous and fun they really are.

"When I was playing competitively, I never really thought much about my body. As long as I could slam my serve at a Williams sister (venus or Serena), I didn't worry about what I ate or if I needed to log StairMaster time because I wasn't exercising."

Zellweger Gets Walk of Fame Star

Academy Award-winning actress Renee Zellweger recalled her first trip to Hollywood nearly two decades ago as a tourist as she received her own shiny star Tuesday on the Walk of Fame.

"I used two rolls of film on just on these stars alone, and I was so excited to be here, and I had my fingers crossed really tightly that one day I could participate in some small way in this medium that I love so much," said the 36-year-old actress said of the 1988 trip with friends.

"But I got to tell you that I never ever imagined a day like this or that I would be invited to be part of this legacy."

Angelina and Jen NOT Friends

The Star reports that Jennifer Aniston recently rebuffed Angelina Jolie's attempt to extend an olive branch to her in wake of recent reports and photos that show Jolie and Pitt together. According to a source, the former Friends actress was anything but friendly when Jolie left a message for her.

"Jen says that Angelina called and left her a voicemail message saying everything isn't what it seems and that if Jen would call her back, she'd fill her in on the truth," said the tattler. "Jen was shocked! She said she wasn't sure how Angelina got her number, though she suspects Brad may have passed it onto her. It made her pretty angry; she said her space had been violated. I think it's driven an even bigger wedge between her and Brad."

The source added that Aniston is no softy. "Jennifer can hold a grudge with the best of them," said the source. "She already had no use for Angelina, and she's livid to think Brad might have had something to do with her calling. The first thing she plans to do is change her numbers so she doesn't get another message like that!"

--Can you blame her?

R+b star Ashanti has a drastically different career planned if her chart success ever ends - a coroner.

Ashanti enthuses, "I wanted to major in business management and minor in forensic science. "I watched Court Tv, I watched Autopsy, I watched Forensic Files, all of that. I was fascinated by it.

"If you can cut someone's stomach open and see the peas and they haven't digested and that can tell you what time they died, I'm amazed by that."

He's So Over It

Hayden Christensen is set to quit acting to become an architect.

He told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Maybe the new 'Star Wars' will be my last movie. "I don't find Hollywood interesting, so I'm thinking about studying architecture instead."

The actor, who plays Anakin Skywalker in the hit sci-fi series, claims that he's had enough of making movies because the industry demands too much from its stars. He has been romantically linked with his 'Star Wars' co-star Natalie Portman, also slammed other young actors who are prepared to sell themselves to Hollywood in order to make their career successful.

Benicio To the Rescue

Benicio Del Toro came to the rescue of Penelope Cruz and her mother after they got stuck in an elevator at the Cannes Film Festival in France, reports IMDB.com.

The Oscar-winning actor saved the Spanish beauty and her mother Encarna from being stranded after the elevator shut down at the Majestic Hotel, where Cruz was attending the film festival to promote the drama Chromophobia.

"It was a very scary experience," said a source. "The lift stopped and no one knew what had happened. Penelope was pretty calm, but her mother is claustrophobic and really started panicking. Benicio managed to get them both out of the lift single-handedly, even though they were stuck between two floors. He has amazing upper-body strength and lifted Penelope out of the top of the lift like she was a doll."

Del Toro added: "It was pretty hairy, but I only did what any other man would do. I was glad to be able to help out."

Sad

Thurl Ravenscroft, who provided the rumbling "They're Grrrrreeeat!" for Kellogg's Tony the Tiger ads and voiced a host of Disney characters, has died. He was 91.

Ravenscroft died Sunday of prostate cancer, said Diane Challis Davy, director of Laguna Beach's Pageant of the Masters. For more than 50 years, Ravenscroft was the affable voice behind Tony the Tiger, TV's popular cartoon pitchman for Kellogg's Frosted Flakes.

"I'm the only man in the world that has made a career with one word: Grrrrreeeat!" Ravenscroft told the Orange County Register in 1996. "When Kellogg's brought up the idea of the tiger, they sent me a caricature of Tony to see if I could create something for them. After messing around for some time I came up with the `Grrrrreeeat!' roar, and that's how it's been since then."

He also narrated the summertime Pageant of the Masters at Laguna Beach for 20 years and lent his voice to characters on thrill rides at Disneyland, including the Pirates of the Caribbean, Splash Mountain, the Enchanted Tiki Room and the Haunted Mansion.

Cruise, Get Control

Get ahold of yourself, Tom:

Tom Cruise is ready to take his relationship with Katie Holmes to the next level, pals say.

One source notes that Cruise — who went public with his relationship with the "Batman Begins" cutie after just two weeks and has been publicly swooning over her ever since — is "talking marriage." The A-list star tells friends, "it's happening," and wants to tie the knot with Holmes.

Strangely, however, he can't seem to remember how they met. Sources say that at last week's "Oprah" taping, Cruise hesitated and stammered when the question was posed to him — not once, but twice. Then he went overboard, dropping to his knees to confess his love for Holmes to Oprah before bringing her out for a surprise appearance.

And in other Tom news:

Tom did take some time out of his busy schedule gushing over Katie Holmes to blast Brooke Shields for taking Paxil. The New York Daily News reports that Scientology evangelist Cruise told Access Hollywood that Shields was misguided when she took the anti-depressant to fight postpartum depression after giving birth.

It has been 25 years since Cruise played minor actor to Brooke Shields star in teen romance Endless Love, but the tables have turned, at least according to Cruise. "Here is a woman, and I care about Brooke Shields because I think she is an incredibly talented woman," said Cruise who preaches the Church of Scientology's disapproval of all mind-altering drugs. "You look at, where has her career gone?"

Shields, for her part, is currently starring in the London production of Chicago and has recently released Down Came the Rain, a new book about her battle with depression. Yet, Cruise appears to believe that vitamins may somehow help her career.

"These drugs are dangerous. I have actually helped people come off," Cruise explained. "When you talk about postpartum, you can take people today, women, and what you do is you use vitamins. There is a hormonal thing that is going on, scientifically, you can prove that. But when you talk about emotional, chemical imbalances in people, there is no science behind that. You can use vitamins to help a woman through those things."

Buh Bye

Pop star Kelly Osbourne is turning her back on her adopted home of Los Angeles to live in her birth town of London.

Kelly has lived in Los Angeles since she was 13 and says Britain appeals to her because the people are less fake and the men are more relaxed when it comes to dating. She explains, "I'm moving back at the end of the year. I've rented a house and we'll buy it soon. "LA's a fantasy dream world. It's so fake, though. People think the streets are paved with gold, but they're actually paved with s**t and with s**tty people.

"There's so much drama with American guys. If you kiss them once, they think you're in a relationship. It's not like how to pull (seduce) someone here. Americans are all very high drama."

--Hey Kelly. Don't let the door hit you in the, well, you know.

Jay-Z and Will Smith are among a host of investors in an unlikely business venture - an all-natural beauty line.

On Tuesday, Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith, Jay-Z, Interscope record company chairman Jimmy Iovine, music mogul Steve Stoute, Tommy Mottola and his wife Thalia attended a press conference in New York to announce their collective $10 million investment in Carol's Daughter.

The investment will fund a Carol's Daughter flagship store in New York City's Harlem, due to open in the autumn, as well as nine more stores in American cities including Atlanta, Philadelphia and Baltimore. Another "Top" List to Argue Over

The movie critics for Time magazine, Richard Schickel and Richard Corliss, have compiled an unranked list of the 100 greatest films. It was posted Sunday on www.Time.com. Included are traditionally acclaimed flicks like "Lawrence of Arabia," "Casablanca" and "Citizen Kane," as well as more atypical choices like "Finding Nemo," "Star Wars" and the 2002 Brazilian gang story, "City of God."

"100 lists are fun to discuss, fun to argue over," Schickel told The Associated Press. "I don't think anybody should say, `That's it, that's the final 100! No disputing this for the rest of eternity!' You know, stuff changes. Life changes. You change."

That perspective is even more difficult for contemporary movies, says the critic who has also produced many documentaries and led the acclaimed reconstruction of Samuel Fuller's 1980 war pic, "The Big Red One." Recent films on the list include Pedro Almodovar's "Talk to Her," the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy and, of course, "Pulp Fiction."

Schickel acknowledges some regret for a few older reviews of his - like not trumpeting "Bonnie and Clyde" more or failing to immediately recognize "Chinatown" as "close to a perfect movie." Though it was before Schickel's time, the original 1942 review of "Casablanca," for example, read, "Nothing short of an invasion could add much to `Casablanca.'" "If you're involved with movies, they are a living organism in your memory," Schickel says. "It's like some creature in a sci-fi movie that keeps shape-shifting."

The most popular director turned out to be Martin Scorsese, who has three films on the list. Scorsese's frequent actor of choice, Robert De Niro, leads actors with five.

In Monday's issue of the magazine, the two critics also name the best film from each decade since Time began: "Metropolis" (1927), "Dodsworth" (1936), "Citizen Kane" (1941), "Ikiru" (1952), "Persona" (1966), "Chinatown" (1974), "Decalogue" (198 , "Pulp Fiction" (1994) and "Talk to Her" (2002).

Get the complete list here.

New Type of Mall

A new shopping complex in Ohio will try to combine the convenience of online stores with the hands-on experience of browsing at a mall.

Sometime near the end of 2006, the complex, called Epicenter, is scheduled to open in Columbus at the Polaris Fashion Place. The nucleus of Epicenter will consist of two parts - the Buypod, a hand-held electronic device, and electronic kiosks located throughout the mall.

Under the concept, customers will enter the mall and register their credit card information, which will then be put into their Buypods. As customers browse merchandise, they can use their Buypod - which, as the name suggests, looks something like an Apple iPod - to scan the labels of items they want to buy.

Although a small number of items will available to take home, most orders will be sent directly to the warehouse, where they will be filled and shipped. The electronic kiosks will print receipts and can be used to cancel orders, if needed.
