Creepy Joe

Joe Simpson has often displayed boundary issues in the process of turning his daughters, Jessica, 26, and Ashlee, 21, into sexual commodities (“She’s got double Ds!” Joe told GQ of Jessica’s bust in 2004. “You can’t cover those suckers up!”) , but sources are saying that the girls have had enough. Why? This is, after all, the man who praises the sexiness of daughter Jessica’s body, and who, a source tells Us Weekly, told stories at an MTV meeting of helping her to fit for her first bra.

Says a source who works with them, “It creeps everyone out. And he thinks he knows what he’s doing, and that he’s doing the best for his kids.”

Indeed, once a manager who had a firm grip on every move his daughters made, Joe, 48, has become a dad who can’t get his kids to give him the time of day due to his controlling and “obnoxious” behavior. Simpson insiders say the sisters are taking the reins from the man who helped make them all rich.

“Back in the day, if Joe wanted Jess anywhere he’d just order her to come – but that clearly isn’t the case now,” says a source.

Past Flames

Conspiculously absent at the "Hollywoodland" premiere in Southampton last weekend was Jon Bon Jovi.

The Jersey-born rocker has a place in East Hampton and has been a fixture on the swanky South Fork social scene this summer. But he had good reason to skip this movie, which stars Ben Affleck as original TV "Superman" George Reeves, and Diane Lane as the movie mogul's wife Reeves was having an affair with when he died under mysterious circumstances in 1959.

When Bon Jovi split from his high school sweetheart, Dorothea Hurley, in the mid-'80s, he had a torrid love affair with Lane that ended very badly. In fact, he wrote "You Give Love a Bad Name" about Lane: "An angel's smile is what you sell/ You promise me heaven, then put me through hell." The heartbreak drove Bon Jovi back into the arms of Hurley, who married him in 1989 and bore him four children.

Navarreson

Just weeks after splitting from Carmen Electra, Dave Navarro is taking up with a fellow not-quite-singleton, adult film star Jenna Jameson.

"It's new," says a Navarro source of the relationship between the Rock Star: Supernova host, 39, and Jameson, 32. "They're not officially dating."

Navarro and Electra announced their "amicable separation" in July after less than three years of marriage. Days later, he wrote on his blog: "Carmen and I love each other. Â… Do (I) have a girlfriend? No."

Jameson is currently separated from her husband, Jay Grdina, who performs in adult films under the name Justin Sterling. "We have been together for eight years and have had a great relationship," Grdina said on Tuesday. "We are best friends and love each other, but definitely need a break. It's nice every once in a while to change it up. Neither of us is really dating anyone, just having fun."

Navarro and Jameson co-hosted this year's Erotica L.A. event in June at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Dolls Fined

Malaysian authorities fined organizers of a concert by the chart-topping Pussycat Dolls for allowing the singers to wear skimpy costumes and for their "sexually suggestive routines," a news report said Wednesday.

The Subang Jaya Municipal Council, which administers the suburb where the concert was held in late July, fined organizers Absolute Entertainment 10,000 ringgit ($2,714) for flouting decency regulations, the Malay Mail tabloid reported.

"The Pussycat Dolls were guilty of performing sexually suggestive routines on stage," council President Mohamad Arif Abdul Rahman was quoted as saying. "In terms of their eye-popping attire, well, there's a lot of proof of that from our sources and the media." The council plans to take the organizer to court if the company fails to settle the fine, the paper said.

--I'm sorry, but don't book a band called the Pussycat Dolls and bitch that they have a sexually explicit routine. I mean, DUH.

--Thanks for the tip, Aubrey.

Miller Joins Fox

Dennis Miller is hardly shy about expressing his conservative political views. The 52-year-old comedian, who has voiced his support for President Bush and the U.S. invasion of Iraq, will talk politics as a contributor on Fox News' "Hannity & Colmes," network spokeswoman Dana Klinghoffer told The Associated Press on Tuesday.

Miller starts Sept. 13. He will also provide commentary on the Fox News Web site, Klinghoffer said.

In 2003, Miller was a regular guest on "Hannity & Colmes," hosted by Sean Hannity and Alan Colmes. He also had his own short-lived CNBC political talk show, "Dennis Miller."

Laguna Breakups

Laguna Beach star Kristin Cavallari, 19, and her boyfriend, Brody Jenner, 22, have split.

"Yes, Brody and I broke up," Cavallari said. "It's just hard right now because I am working all the time. We're still good friends though." The off-and-on couple, who met through Laguna Beach costar Talan Torriero, originally broke up in the fall, but got back together shortly afterward.

In between spending time with Jenner, (the son of Olympian Bruce Jenner), Cavallari was spotted several times with Nick Lachey, but friends said at the time the relationship was "not anything serious."

And...

Laguna Beach stars Lauren "L.C." Conrad and Jason Wahler have split up. "Its true. Lauren broke up with him last week," Conrad's rep, Nicole Perez, said

Being single isn't slowing Conrad down a bit: The 20-year-old, who now appears on The Hills, took a trip to Las Vegas last weekend with her girlfriends, including Hills pal Heidi Montag. Meanwhile, Wahler, 19, partied in Los Angeles over the weekend at Les Deux with Laguna pal Stephen Colletti. Wahler, wearing Adidas track pants and a t-shirt, got wild on the dance floor, according to a source.

"He was all over the place," says an onlooker, "Every time I saw him, he was talking to a different girl." Wahler's partying ways contributed to the couple's breakup, a source said. This is not the first time they've split. The pair broke up last August, then reunited. "We're pretty serious now," Conrad told said

As for the future, Conrad plans to return to L.A.'s Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in the fall, and will film a second season of The Hills.

The Battle Wages On

The mutual hatred of Tori Spelling and her mother, Candy, is making it impossible to honor the memory of the family's patriarch, TV producer Aaron Spelling.

Candy not only had Tori cut out of her father's will - sources close to Tori now claim Candy has put the kibosh on an ABC special honoring Aaron because Tori was going to host the project. That follows a re port that Candy had Tori disinvited from this month's Emmy Awards, where Aaron will also receive a tribute.

Meanwhile, Tori's brother, Randy, is said to be working on a biopic about his father's life - which does not involve Tori. Kevin Sasaki, a rep for Candy and Randy, said, "I don't know about [the biopic project]. But as for the special, Candy just felt the timing was not right for the ABC special because the Emmy Awards are doing a big tribute, and it was all too close together. It has nothing to do with Tori hosting the ABC special . . . And she is not having Tori disinvited from the Emmys. She has no power over the invitations . . . She's disheartened by all of these stories."

Baldwin Lands Sopranos Role

Daniel Baldwin's fortunes have changed following a cocaine possession scandal and a string of driving misdemeanors - he's landed a part in The Sopranos.

The actor will play himself in the final eight episodes of the acclaimed mob drama. In the episodes Baldwin has been hired by Michael Imperioli's movie director character, Christopher Moltisanti, to play a gangster in a horror film.

Last month, the actor was questioned by police in Los Angeles after he was observed speeding through a red light before crashing, while driving under a suspended license. Cops had to pull a weapon on Baldwin at the scene of the accident after he refused to co-operate with them. Officials are still considering whether or not to charge the actor with a misdemeanor driving offence. In April Baldwin was arrested for cocaine possession after he was found in a Santa Monica, California hotel with cocaine and drug paraphernalia.

--Sounds like a perfect fit!

Life Imitating Art?

Larry David couldn't curb his enthusiasm to blow up when his beloved blue BMW 530 was dented in a Martha's Vineyard parking lot.

In what resembled a wacky scene from his HBO sitcom, the kvetching curmudgeon and his wife, Laurie, were outside a supermarket in Vineyard Haven last weekend when an out-of-control shopping cart slammed into another cart, which then crashed into David's $75,000 vehicle. "He saw there was a little dent and he was all p - - - - d off and called the cops," an eyewitness said.

"There he is in a golf shirt and shorts, flapping away with his arms. It was just like an episode on his show where something goes wrong and he gets bent out of shape." Cops confirmed David summoned them to the scene, although no charges were pressed. A call to David's agent was not returned. David has a history with BMWs - in an episode of "Seinfeld," which he co-created, Jerry gets freaked out when a BMW he's driving becomes "infected" by the body odor of a parking valet.

He says, "I'm looking for a woman who's more famous than me. Kate Beckinsale. I whispered in her ear the other day on the red carpet (at the premiere of Click), 'I'll give you everything I have.' She just laughed. But, you know, when she met me she seemed very excited. But she's happily married, so nothing's going to happen."

Whew!

Hugh Hefner says he's doing just fine. "I've never felt better," the 80-year-old Hefner told The Associated Press when asked Monday about a report he was in ill health.

A newspaper gossip item said Monday the Playboy empire founder had a mini-stroke. But Playboy spokesman Rob Hilburger insisted the report was "completely untrue." Then Hefner got on the phone with assurances he was OK. "We had a lingerie party Saturday night and I went up a little early because (girlfriend) Holly (Madison) had a cold. I am in very good health," Hefner said.

Hefner hosted his "Midsummer Night's Dream" party at the mansion Saturday night and a movie-night gathering the following night, Hilburger said. Guests at the Saturday party included Luke and Owen Wilson, Jack Black, Johnny Knoxville and Jimmy Kimmel, Hilburger said.

Swanson and Eisler Expecting

Skating with Celebrities winners Kristy Swanson and Lloyd Eisler are expecting their first child together on Valentine's Day.

Swanson, 36, an actress best known for her starring role in the 1992 movie Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Eisler, 43, a former Olympic figure skater, met last year while filming the FOX reality competition.

The couple had denied earlier rumors that Swanson was pregnant. But in a statement provided by publicist Cheryl Kagan, Swanson says: "We wanted to wait until I completed the first trimester to officially announce our pregnancy. Lloyd and I are thrilled and wanted to share the wonderful news." The two, who live in Los Angeles, began dating in December, according to Kagan.

In fact, their romance created a scandal in the skating community. At the time, Eisler was married and his wife, Marcia O'Brien, was pregnant with their second child. The Eislers officially separated on Nov. 30, O'Brien said in February. Two weeks later O'Brien gave birth to son Seth, now 8 months (big brother Ethan is 2).

This is the first child for Swanson.

Scandal Tones

The next anti-Semitic rant in a vaguely Aussie accent you hear may not be Mel Gibson: it may be a cell phone.

Oasys Mobile has created a “Mel in Malibu” ringtone with a professional actor impersonating Gibson’s infamous tirade. The tirade, free to download, has the potty-mouth bits bleeped out. “We’re starting a series of Scandal Tones that are inspired by celebrities going through a scandal,” Oasys spokeswoman Gina Torres said.

Any other celebs in the company’s ringtone future? “We’re looking towards doing something with Lindsay Lohan,” Torres says. “We’re waiting until she gets hospitalized again and then we’re going to have the sound of an ambulance siren in the background and this husky-voiced Lohan sound-alike blaming it on dehydration. She’s already been hospitalized three times this year, so we figure we won’t have to wait long.”

Straight To DVD

It looks like Avril Lavigne and Kristin Cavallari might be making a movie together, for none other than MTV Films. Rumor has it that there is a lot of buzz inside the MTV offices about Avril and Kristin playing friends in the movie based on Alex McAulay's novel, Lost Summer.

A source says, "I believe that Avril Lavigne is going to be starring with Kristin Cavallari as two friends who witness a murder in a film for MTV Films based on Alex McAulay's new novel, Lost Summer. It is not a done deal, but there is some serious buzz building over here about it. The MTV execs seem really invested in making Avril a movie star, and feel that Kristin owes them (our guess around here is that Avril is way more into this project than Kristin)."

According to Alex McAulay's website, the book is summed up as follows: It's Laguna Beach meets Cape Fear when a rich girl from California confronts murder and isolation on North Carolina's stormy Outer Banks.
