Kevin Arnold Is a Dad

Former Wonder Years star Fred Savage and his wife, Jennifer Lynn Stone, welcomed their first child, a boy, Savage's agent said.

The baby was born Saturday night in Los Angeles. He weighed in at 6 lbs., 13 oz. and measured 20 inches long. The couple, who have yet to name their son, "are absolutely thrilled," Savage's agent said. The new parents were childhood pals, but their paths diverged in 1988, when Savage, then 11, moved from their Chicago suburb to L.A. to play Kevin Arnold on The Wonder Years.

Eleven years later, Savage, now 30, and Stone, 33, reconnected at Savage's birthday party. "We started talking and smooching, and we've been together ever since," the actor said after their August 2004 wedding.

Among their vows: "I promised to always bring up a glass of water to her before we go to bed, and she promised to never let me dress myself," Savage said.

Kiss Fans Protest

About 200 Kiss fans protested Saturday in front of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum to demand that the band be inducted into the hall. Fans, some from as far away as California, carried signs and had painted their faces in black-and-white to resemble Kiss band members.

Those participating in the half-hour demonstration were upset that the band, formed more than 30 years ago, has not been admitted, even though it has been eligible since the late 1990s.

Artists become eligible for induction 25 years after the release of their first record, according to the museum's website. "Criteria include the influence and significance of the artist's contributions to the development and perpetuation of rock and roll," the site says.

A museum spokesman said it was the first demonstration by fans seeking to have a group inducted. The foundation that selects inductees is based in New York City, not at the museum.

First Kazaa, Now LimeWire

A consortium of the world's largest record labels has banded together to take on the architects behind LimeWire, and on Friday filed a joint copyright-infringement suit seeking $150,000 in damages for each song "willfully infringed" by the popular file-sharing program.

According to Reuters, the suit — filed in New York federal court — asserts LimeWire permits users to download music illegally. The filing is the latest in a series of lawsuits the music industry has filed to combat Internet piracy — an effort boosted by last year's Supreme Court ruling that content companies can take legal action against those who encourage copyright infringement.

The complaint was brought against LimeWire by Universal Music, Sony BMG, EMI and Warner Music Group. In addition to naming LimeWire, the action lists Lime Group, LLC, the company's chief executive, Mark Gorton, and chief operating officer, Greg Bildson, as defendants. The suit filed by record labels alleges LimeWire has profited from unlawful music downloads, calling the "scope of infringement ... massive," Reuters reports. The lawsuit further claims that LimeWire's executives "have had a direct financial interest in, and derived substantial benefit from, the infringement of [the labels'] copyrighted sound recordings."

Following Friday's filing, the Recording Industry Association of America — a trade group that represents the U.S. recording industry — released a statement, saying that "despite numerous efforts to engage LimeWire, the site's corporate owners have shown insufficient interest in developing a legal business model."

The complaint comes on the heels of last month's announcement that Kazaa, one of the most prevalent peer-to-peer file-sharing networks, had reached an out-of-court settlement with the world's largest music companies to resolve litigation brought against Kazaa's operators in the U.S. and Australia. As part of the settlement, Kazaa agreed to shell out more than $100 million to the labels, and vowed to introduce filtering technology to block illegal file trading.

Nightmare

There's so much wrong with this I don't even know where to begin. What's worse? The shirt w/ a stain on it? The hooker lipstick? The fact that she has TWO Starbucks drinks in her hands? The (gasp! It's hard for me to even "say" it) scrunchie on her wrist? I could go on...

What Will Happen To the Rocky Statute?

A bronze Rocky statue is on the ropes in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania because city officials can't decide where to put it.

The likeness of Sylvester Stallone's movie boxing champ was dedicated to the city by the movie star in 1982, but dignitaries still can't decide where the statue's permanent home should be. And a campaign to erect the larger-then-life statue at the foot of the Philadelphia Museum of Art steps has fallen flat because snobby museum bosses insist the piece isn't artistic enough.

A spokesman for the city Art Commission says, "It's a prop." The commission has suggested the search should continue to find a permanent home for Stallone's statue. Stallone, himself, who will return with a sixth Rocky film later this year, has been fighting to find the statue a suitable home after learning it had been placed in storage.

My favorite quotes: "Michelle's family is “beaming with joy” over her recent win. “My grandpa [in Ferndale] carries around my picture and shows it off,” she explains."

And...

"Nunes admits her body went through a slight “transition” after she was hired, but claims it was for her - not the restaurant."

Lisa Turtle Settles

Former Saved By The Bell star Lark Voorhies has dropped her lawsuit against US tabloid the National Enquirer.

The actress, who played Lisa Turtle on the US teen show, alleged the Enquirer printed false accusations that she was addicted to cocaine. The article also quoted a "friend" of Voorhies' saying she had a "terrible drug problem" and was "bipolar." Voorhies claims the Enquirer article cost her several acting jobs, invaded her privacy and caused her "humiliation, embarrassment, hurt feelings, metal anguish and suffering."

The star's attorney, Cyrus J Nownejadi tells celebrity website TMZ.com, "The allegations are untrue and the matter has been resolved."

Beaner Wears Curt's PJ's

Frances Bean Cobain stunned photographers on a new Elle magazine photo shoot when she turned up wearing her late father Kurt Cobain's old pajamas.

The shoot featured celebrity offspring wearing the clothes of their rock 'n' roll parents -- with Kimberly and Ruby Stewart sporting old lumberjack coats belonging to their dad Rod, and Midge Ure's daughter Molly Lorenne modeling the coat her father wore in the Ultravox video for "Vienna."

But 14-year-old Cobain's apparel, first worn by the tragic Nirvana frontman on his wedding day to Courtney Love, was a more bizarre choice. She says, "He got married to my mom in them in Hawaii in 1992 so I thought it'd be cute if I wore them today."

Who Is She Kidding?

Paris Hilton, who has been linked to a string of rich and famous men, wants to set the record straight about her sexy image.

"People think I sleep with everyone, but I'm not like that," the Simple Life star and hotel heiress tells British GQ in its September issue. "Kissing is all I do."

In fact, Hilton, 25, says, "I'm not having sex for a year. I've decided. Â… I'll kiss, but nothing else." For that matter, the star reveals that she's only ever had sex with two men in her entire life. "The reason so many of my relationships don't work is guys are like, 'Hey what's going on? It's been like four months and I'm only getting a kiss here,' " she says.

When it comes to chastity, says Hilton, "I feel good about it. I like the way guys go crazy when they can't have sex with you." Expanding upon that philosophy, she theorizes, "If he can't have you, he stays interested, the moment he has you he's gone. Unless he is really in love with you."

As for the subject of guys, specifically the ones who have been in her life, Hilton says of her first love, Jason Shaw: "He's amazing. We are very close and he lives next door to me." Of former fiancé Paris Latsis: "I won't get back with him." Of former USC football star Matt Leinart: "We're good friends, we just hang out together. He's a good guy."

Hilton also says that she thinks she'll only be married once, and when it comes to going out on a date, she likes to be treated "like a princess."

Brit And Sheen--Business Partners?

Pregnant pop star Britney Spears is desperate to go into business with star Charlie Sheen after falling in love with his range of kid's clothing.

Sheen launched his hugely successful Sheen Kidz line in April with business partner Michael Berens and the range is now sold in more than 125 stores. A source tells Ok! magazine, "Brit's people approached Sheen Kidz out of the blue. She'd seen his clothing and really liked it." "She wants to start her own children's clothing line and she thought Sheen Kidz would be able to help get things off the ground."

The Two And A Half Men star is reportedly open to expanding his business with the pop star. The source adds, "Charlie believes it would be fun to work with Britney."

The singer, whose son Sean Preston will celebrate his first birthday September 14th, is due to deliver her second around the same time.

Will Caught In Crossfire

Will Ferrell isn't into watersports. In town to launch "Talladega Nights," the funnyman took his family to Bed New York for a quiet cocktail when a fight with water guns and ice buckets broke out.

The overheated scenesters on the roof deck were "running around like inebriated kids at recess," said one source. Ferrell did his best to evade the spray, but two scantily clad women armed with supersoakers were brave enough to "accidentally" catch him in the crossfire. The usually fun and carefree Ferrell wasn't amused at being drenched and had bodyguards escort him out pronto.

Blogging All The Way To Jail

Before there was YouTube's crush of do-it-yourself video online, Josh Wolf was busy taking media into his own hands. As one of the Internet's earliest videobloggers, Wolf thrust himself onto the front lines of citizen journalism, uploading his politically spiked, home-grown content onto www.joshwolf.net.

While bypassing old media gatekeepers — like editors and programming schedules — Wolf, 24, gained unprecedented access to the Web's global stage, but he also fast won notoriety for his attempts to democratize the media. Last year, Wolf earned the wrath of Al Gore's youth cable channel, Current TV, when he criticized the new station's hiring practices along with its video submission policies on his blog. In protest, he started the Rise Up! Network, a non-profit alternative media site, where anyone can feature his or her own video work and retain exclusive rights.

Now the videoblogger is enmeshed in a new digital media controversy. On Tuesday, Wolf was thrown into federal prison for refusing to testify before a U.S. grand jury and for failing to hand over unpublished video footage he shot during a raucous clash on the streets between San Francisco police officers and anti-G8 protesters last year. Wolf posted some of the video on his blog, and some clips were aired on TV newscasts that later paid Wolf for the footage. But the feds are demanding to see everything that wasn't made public. They allege that the unused portion of Wolf's video may show the patrol car being set afire — part of a federal crime, the government asserts. Wolf denies there is an attempted arson on his videotape. The feds say they have jurisdiction over the case because the police car is partly U.S. government property since the S.F.P.D. receives federal anti-terrorism money.

"Not only does this logic seem silly," Wolf told TIME in June after receiving his final subpoena, "but if unchallenged it will have a deleterious effect on the state protections afforded to many journalists, both independent and those that are part of the established media." Judge William Alsup of Federal District Court rejected Wolf's arguments, and declared him in contempt of court. So he is now being held in a detention center in Dublin, Calif., where he could remain until next July when the grand jury expires, or earlier if his attorneys can convince the court his custody becomes punitive because he won't turn over the court-ordered materials. Wolf maintains that as a freelance videographer and blogger, he is an independent journalist protected under the state's generous shield law, which protects journalists' confidential, unpublished material obtained while reporting. He adamantly resists what he sees as the government's attempt to force him to identify various activists captured in his tapes. "It goes against every moral fiber in my body to sit back and out people for their political beliefs," he said, adding that if this interpretation stands, it could "kill politically contentious journalism in America."

This could also be a landmark case, since Wolf is the first blogger to be targeted by federal authorities for refusing to cooperate with a grand jury.

To Believe, Or Not To Believe?

Tom Cruise's ex-girlfriend, Penelope Cruz, is the latest celeb to say she's seen Suri Cruise.

"I met Suri. She is really beautiful. She is really special," the 32-year-old actress told reporters Thursday at the London premiere of her new film, Volver. "One of the most beautiful babies I have ever seen. And I am extremely happy for them. They are really happy and doing great."

Cruz, who dated Cruise from 2001 to 2004, declined to offer other details of the meeting. Suri, the daughter of Cruise, 44, and Katie Holmes, 27, hasn't been seen in public since she was born on April 18.

But this month, Jada Pinkett Smith said that she also has seen the baby. "She's one of the sweetest babies I've ever met in my life," she said. "She's an absolute beauty and she's Daddy's little girl." Cruise's pal and fellow Scientologist, Leah Remini, has also met Suri. The King of Queens star said Suri "looks like Tom and Katie. She's just beautiful."

--Ok. Is anyone buying all these Suri sightings?

Luda Gets a Haircut

Ludacris has lopped off the long braids that have been his trademark for nearly a decade -- and not because of the heat.

The rapper, whose real name is Chris Bridges, says his new, short hairdo -- a "shadow fade" -- was a "spur of the moment kind of thing." He acknowledges that after years of wearing braids, cornrows or a giant 'fro, he'd simply run out of new styles.

But he says the new look is symbolic of a larger change. "This album that's coming out is so different than all the record material that I've recorded over the past four albums that I needed to complement the new sound with a new look," Bridges said by phone from Los Angeles.

Bridges says the album, "Release Therapy," is a clear departure that tackles more serious issues like the government and its response to Hurricane Katrina, being a father to his daughter, Karma, and his relationship with God. "It's a lot of things that I'm speaking on that I've never talked about," he says. "I felt like people knew who Ludacris was, but people never knew who Chris Bridges was."
