Back to School?

A new reality show will follow rocker Tommy Lee from the classroom to the frat house.

The former Motley Crue drummer has signed on with NBC for an untitled reality show that has him enrolling in an undisclosed college. Lee has reportedly been interested in doing a reality show for awhile, but has been waiting for the right project to interest him.

NBC hasn't announced when the series will begin, but in the meantime, Lee is getting ready for the October release of his autobiography, Tommyland.

--This could be the best reality show yet. Can you see Tommy in Calculus class? Or getting hazed?

1 It's difficult for me to wrap my mind around the fact that a guy who played drums at the first concert I ever saw in 1985 is now pop-culture icon.

2 I did not recognize him from the photo. Man, he still is attractive. (thanks for the photo!)His place in pop-culture I think has a lot to do with his beautiful wives and his looks. Not to say that I wasn't blown away on my 16th birthday when I first saw him raised above the stage in a drum solo playing upside down. I will check out this reality show.

4 I've said it before (a thousand times) and I'll say it again: Reality. Shows. Suck. Get some real ideas, Hollywood!

6 NBC was holding open casting calls all week at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for this new reality show, but they were really skimpy on the details. A friend of mine is one of the finalists, the producers even called me (he put me down as a reference) and asked me a bunch of questions about him. It'll be cool if he ends up on the show!
