Looks like ESPN is going to follow suit.

For starters, Playmakers was a horrendous show. It was worse than a soap opera.
When ESPN started putting out movies, I knew this was only a matter of time.
The irony is there seems to be money -- lots of money in sports -- these days. But nobody seems intent on focusing on the actual games anymore.
It's all about the highlight reel, the frosted-lens story about some dude's dirt-poor mother, raising 25 kids and a dog, or about Payne Stewart (this week).
Call me crazy, but I still like to watch a game more than a melodramatic fluff piece about a peripheral subject.

You said it Kevvy---remember the TNT "We know Drama" commercials which almost always featured some NBA footage (forget for a minute that the nbacansuckit) as representative of Drama in of itself? ESPN already has the Duece, Classic, Deportes and the other channels to feature fluff, how about keeping my favorite network dedicated to sporting events, which provide plenty of real entertainment without all the extra crap.
