Black Eyed Peas star Fergie credits former lover Justin Timberlake with triggering her international success - and insists they remain the very best of friends.
The singer, who briefly dated the pop hunk, believes Timberlake's vocals on breakthrough single Where Is The Love? gave the band a new commercial edge and helped them realize their true potential.
She says, "I don't take credit for that, Where Is The Love hit a button with people and it had Justin Timberlake on it who was just getting really huge. I was more the icing on the cake. "It is a bit weird but he's a doll, a real doll. A really good guy. I had a lot of fun with him. Actually, working with him is great. It wasn't a long term serious relationship, so there's no bad history. He's part of the family."
