I Was Wrong

I can admit it when I'm wrong. I was wrong twice yesterday:

1) I didn't think "Avenue Q" would pull off the upset victory over "Wicked" at the Tony Awards. (I got every single one of my other picks right though).

2) As for "The Sopranos," I didn't think they'd whack Tony B. until after the hiatus. I wasn't too impressed with the episode. What did you all think?

1 I guess I was sort of with you for the first half -- it just seemed to drag along; that surprised me, considering how good this season has been (esp. the past few episodes). But I do think they captured Tony's anxiety over the pending war over hiding Tony B. And when he had to whack Tony B., well, yeah, that shocked me...a pretty brutal scene, if you ask me. But it makes me wonder if Tony's going to be regretting it, considering the FBI's bust of the NY family. Well, we've got 18 months to chew on it.

2 I had a feeling that when it came down to it, Tony S would do the whacking on his cousin. At least he saved Tony B. from the torture that was planned. I did think the whack would be at the end, though, not in the middle of the episode. Didn't leave much in the way of cliff hangers...

3 this episode was... surprising. I didn't expect Tony to whack Tony B., especially WHEN he did. And the ending... woah....HOLY CRAP....definitely wasn't expecting that! It wasn't great, but it was okay. There is another season or two coming, right? I could've sworn they had said that they had said season 6 & that was it. Please tell me they were lying! woohoo! Six Feet Under is returning!!! YAAAAY!

5 For the Sopranos, A lackluster end to a lackluster season. My question is, with Johnny Sac indicted, is Tony S. THE boss now. As in THE BIG BOSS? Did anyone else think that all the new characters and the NY power struggle just took away from the really good characters, Sil, Paulie, Lil' Chrissy, Junior? And what about Finn catching Vito playing the man flute? WTF? No resolution to anything.

6 Oh Jeff-- I was just discussing the manflute incident yesterday. Poor Finn. I thought he was going to get it in the porto-john during that episode.
