Asked how British audiences compared to American ones, Kilmer told London's the Sun, "They're smarter. They read books." Kilmer berates Broadway for becoming too "Vegas-like."

What is with these actors!? They jet off to Europe and suddenly Americans are ignorant and uneducated. I'm just waiting for Johnny Depp, Gwyneth Paltrow and now Val to join forces and collectively hold a press conference on why they think Americans are idiots. May I remind each of them that if it were not for their AMERICAN films they probably wouldn't be the stars they are today?

I like Val Kilmer, but I hate it when folks start bashing on their family/workplace/homeland just to further ingratiate themselves to the locals. It's cheap pandering.
The Dixie Chicks did it. Johnny Depp did it. And now Val Kilmer. They're all entitled to their opinions. I just wish they wouldn't choose to use them in such kiss-ass ways.
