Mind Your Manners

Mind your manners around Joan Collins.

The "Dynasty" diva has written a scathing denunciation of the state of civilization after attending a black-tie ball in London where "a six-foot-tall, middle-aged, horse-faced male pushed past me, trod on the hem of my dress and rushed outside to climb into the taxi that the doorman had waiting for us."

Collins, in her tirade in London's Daily Mail, blames "the awful, pervasive disregard that we have for civility today." She asks, "Why do young people consider it cool to be arrogant, swaggering and rude? Why do so many people in England seem so cynical and self-centered?"

2 Is a "six-foot middle-aged horse-faced male" young to her? How old is she? And this is a woman who is herself not above being arrogant and rude when it suits her purposes.

3 I'm with Joan on this one. People are rude and self-centered all over and it's pretty annoying.

4 OMFG. Welcome to 2005, Joan. May I remind you that it's a dog eat dog world out there, and most of us can't seek refuge at Claridges until all the unpleasantness blows over. We're confronted with arrogant, swaggering, rude peasants running amok and trodding on the hems of our dresses every single fucking day! Waaaaah!
