Not a Far Stretch for Rosie

Rosie O’Donnell hasn’t been doing many acting gigs lately, but she’ll appear on Showtime’s “Queer as Folk” for three episodes.

OÂ’Donnell, long a fan of the gay-themed drama, called the showÂ’s producers to request a role on the show, the cable channel said Tuesday. Her first episode will air Sunday (10 p.m. ET).

The former talk-show host plays an abused woman who works at the local diner and falls for her mentor, played by Sharon Gless.

--What? Rosie is going to play a lesbian? That'll be tough for her.

1 I see she's now going with the buzzcut look ... lovely.

2 Not just the buzz cut but the skater-bangs buzzed on the side cut. I actually did this in high school, but I can pretty much guarantee that Rosie gets more tail with it than I did.
