Oscar Roundup

Here's your MP&S Oscar roundup:

--Here's your complete list of winners. (No major surprises except perhaps Scorcese's Susan Lucci-like snubbage).

--I wasn't too impressed with Chris Rock as the host. Here are some of his quotes from the evening.

--Hilary Swank is well on her way to a long and prosperous life, based on this article.

The following are my thoughts on the red carpet looks:

--Fashion Flops: Scarlet Johansen, Johnny Depp, Star Jones Reynolds, Melanie Griffith, Robin Williams, Adam Duritz

--Hair flops: Laura Linney, Penelope Cruz, Halle Berry, Scarlet Johansen, Adam Duritz

--Fashion Wins: Hillary Swank, Kirsten Dunst, Beyonce, Emmy Rossum, Salma Hayek, Natalie Portman, and Charlize Theron

1 Must disagree on Halle Berry. I thought she looked perfect, hair and dress. Beyonce look stunning, but I could have done without that black glittery eyeshadow she had on during the Phantom song. What was up with that? Chris Rock was a good host. I actually watched the entire show this year which is VERY rare for me. The only time I cringed was when he introduced Penelope and Salma. Not funny, Chris. I didn't see Star Jones and I think you should add Renee Z. to your hair missed. That red dress was gorgeous, but that hair makes her look OLD. Just my opinion....

2 That would be: Renee Z hair missed list. Ugh.

3 Yo! Give me props for my "Susan Lucci" comment. You stole my line! (said in Rod Tidwell voice a la "Jerry Maguire")

4 Actually, I heard it on TV during the red carpet portion, but I'll give you credit, Ice. Hey everyone!!! Ice said that too!

5 It looks like she has that dress on backwards.

6 I wasn't planning to watch, but I entered a family pool before the show started, so my curiosity compelled me to watch (I did horribly). I thought Hilary looked lovely and I think that dress is fabulous for her. I'm with Robin in Beyonce's eye shadow - distracting. Did you catch Oprah's black power signal during Jamie Foxx's acceptance speech? She can't help but draw attention to herself

7 I thought Chris Rock did exactly what the Academy Big Whigs wanted him to do - Make jokes that jo shmo (me included) would enjoy, some controversial material (political humor aimed at Dubya), and some slams on the celebrities who were or were not present (Jude Law) all in the hopes of rallying a plummeting viewership. Also, I thought Halle Berry looked gorgeous as usual, Renee looked like she could have been Marilyn Manson's date, and Ms. Swank had the best dress of the evening.

8 Hilary Swank?!Swanks dress was a TKO in my opinion. Renee too, she could not walk. Beyonce's had changing eye shadow. First it was green, then a thick black and then a sparkly black. I agree with hits Salma Hayeck and Kirsten Dunst.

9 Okay, liked Chris Rock's monologue, at the beginning...after that...not impressed. Loved Cate Blanchett's dress as well as Salma Hayek's. Thought Julia Roberts looked awesome, and that Renee Zellweger needs to get with Tori Spelling and have a cheeseburger! Oh, and Beyonce...Beyonce, Beyonce, Beyonce. She looked lovely - as usual. But come on! She is painful to listen to and even more painful to watch. We have some amazing vocalists out there - couldn't we have gotten one of them to sing either or both of those songs!!!!!!

10 awww, KP! I agree with the Beyonce overload (on SO many levels) but I thought she sounded nice on the Phantom song. The one in French was painful, and the one with Josh Groban was doubly painful.

11 Yup, I caught the black power sign from Oprah.

12 Just to chime in, thought Renee looked horrible - whoever decided she was attractive should be shot. Not to mention that those mermaid dresses make you look ridiculous when you walk.

13 Can Hilary's breasts be MORE perfect?? I love her and she looked great. Halle looked amazing, but it's almost boring. I actually loved her hair. I caught O's sign, kinda shocked me, but she can say whatever she wants, in my opinion. Love that women. She looked so good too. I thought the show was good.

14 Kirsten Dunst actually looked good for a change. Not too sure about Natalie Portman's frock. Hilary Swank's dress had to grow on me, but I like it now. Adam Duritz needs a new stylist. Period. Loved Julia Robert's new boobies. Loved Chris Rock. All in all a good show.
