2 I'm of a mind that this most recent fad of publishing lists is more for the sake of discussion than anything else. I like most of this list, honestly (Ray Charles in the 50s...outstanding!). But to not include Born to Run in the 70s? Blasphemy!!

3 That was awful. The 60's were horrible choices. The Beatles track, however beautiful is hardly a good representation of their music. Where was David Bowie? Where was..~cough cough~ Nights In White Satin...(just a personal preference)

4 What about 867-5309 or Come on Eileen? No 80's list is complete without at least one of those.

6 Smells like Teen Spirit? That song doesen't even make sense! Well then again, maybe that does represent the 90's...

7 Smells Like Teen Spirit and Nirvana really represent the grunge movement. It's difficult for me to think of Nirvana and grunge as a "retro" thing, but back in the day it was all the rage. I do go back to my original thought on lists -- they're squarely in the eye of the beholder and have little to know cultural value. AFI's movie list comes close, though. I will concede that.
