"The West Wing" Goes Live
NBC will air a live episode of "The West Wing" featuring a debate between presidential candidates Matt Santos and Arnold Vinick on Nov. 6.
Airing scripted TV shows live is a rarity these days, although NBC tried the attention-getting device earlier last week with the "Will & Grace" season premiere.

"The West Wing," which has lagged in the ratings with its move to Sunday nights this season, is in the midst of the campaign to replace Martin Sheen's character, President Bartlet. Jimmy Smits plays Democratic candidate Santos and Alan Alda the Republican Vinick.

I still love this show, despite that first post-Sorkin rough season (ugh!). Last season and this season have been really good. I hate that it's been moved to Sundays.
It could be worse, though. They could've sent it to Friday...where shows go to die.

The reason it lags in ratings on Sunday nights is because NO ONE KNEW it was moving to Sunday nights until a week before the new episodes came out!
I was doing stuff around the house Sunday night then realized "Oh shit TWW is on!" and already lost 10 minutes. It takes time for us fans to get used to change.
Could be worse, Friday and Saturday nights are the true kiss of death.

Same thing happened to me, Brian. I had no clue it moved to Sunday until THAT day. I was like, Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?!?!?!
