Vivienne Westwood Designs Rugs

Cynthia Rowley designs sheets for Target, Ralph and Calvin have their very own home lines, and even Gucci has wallpaper. Now Vivienne Westwood joins the domestic designer club with her very own line of rugs.

Debuting this month at The Rug Company in London, and later at its New York outpost, the carpets were commissioned by Rug Company founder Chris Sharp, whose past collaborations have included Matthew Williamson, Marni, and Diane Von Furstenberg.

VivienneÂ’s rugs compliment her Fall Â’05 clothing collection with deep scarlet and rich cream colors, bold graphic prints, and a signature carpet featuring a blurry Union Jack outlined in blood red and gray. The rugs retail at $85 per square foot, and come in Tibetan wool or silk weaves.
