The Simple Life star Nicole Richie and her fiancé, "DJ AM" Adam Goldstein, have broken off their engagement, her rep said.
"They have called off the engagement," publicist Cindy Guagenti confirms, saying the decision was mutual.
Richie, the 24-year-old daughter of Lionel Richie, and Goldstein, 32, announced their engagement in February after dating for a year. By then the pair had already moved into a Hollywood Hills home together.
--I have to say, I'm a little surprised by this one.

I'm surprised by this too but, if it had to happen, I'm glad they split now rather than after they were married and possibly had kids.

This is a joke. I'm so sick of celebrity couples at this point.
I knew it was over when she made him cancel that lucrative DJ'ing commitment just to spend time with her for a weekend. I mean, come on ... that's his livelihood, and they see each other almost every day, apparently.
