Producers of American Idol have asked Whitney Houston to be a judge on the fifth season of the show.
The 41-year-old R&B singer is the producers' first choice as a replacement for Paula Abdul if she leaves to become a judge on Fox' spin-off So You Think You Can Dance reality show, reports America's Star magazine.
Mariah Carey has also reportedly been approached to appear in the show the Star reports.
--Awesome. I can see some monster fights between Whitney and Simon.

Well, Whitney IS a has-been, whereas Mariah is currently back on top .... I can see Whitney doing it.
P.S. She has the worst breast implants of all-time.
