Shopped Til She Dropped

Did Nicole Richie take that phrase “shop until you drop” too seriously?

The super-skinny reality show star reportedly fainted while doing a little retail therapy. Richie — who has admitted that she’s too thin but has denied that she has an eating disorder — collapsed while browsing at Kitson, a chic LA boutique, on July 15, according to Life & Style.

“She was looking through a rack of clothes when she suddenly fainted and hit the floor,” an “eyewitness” told the mag. “The staff helped her to a chair and offered her something to eat. She shot back, ‘No!’ and mumbled something about it being ‘so hot.’” Although Richie turned away food, she did accept a glass of water, reports the mag, and after about 20 minutes “was steady enough to leave.”

RichieÂ’s rep couldnÂ’t be reached for comment, but a spokeswoman for the store denies the incident.

Good thing Cabrera's ex, Ashlee Simpson, didn't come after her performance for Victoria's Secret on Pier 54. But her dad, Joe Simpson, was there, because he's Cabrera's manager.

Was Haley Drunk?

Actor Haley Joel Osment was hospitalized early Thursday after he apparently lost control of his car while heading to his Los Angeles area home, authorities said.

An LA County Sheriff's Department official told Access Hollywood that they suspect alcohol was involved in the collision involving Haley Joel Osment early today. A blood sample was obtained after the young actor was taken to Pasadena's Huntington Memorial Hospital this morning. The sample will be tested and results will be known within three weeks. If alcohol was indeed a factor, they will take the case to the District Attorney for prosecution. The sample will also be tested for the presence of drugs.

Requests for a statement by Access to Osment's manager have not yet been returned. Osment, who was nominated for an Academy Award for his role as a boy who could see dead people in "The Sixth Sense," was driving a 1995 Saturn about 1 a.m. when the car collided with a brick pillar and flipped, said Los Angeles County sheriff's Lt. Greg Sisneros.

The 18-year-old actor was awake and talking following the crash, Sisneros said. He had been alone in the car and was taken to Huntington Hospital in nearby Pasadena. Sisneros had no information on his condition, and an emergency-room receptionist said no one under that name was at the hospital.

Osment is set to appear in the upcoming "Home of the Giants."

Section Eight will continue to produce Clooney's upcoming movies, including Ocean's Thirteen and The Good German, both directed by Soderbergh. Soderbergh has said he would like to focus more on film-making and less on the film development and producing process.

Clooney and Heslov co-wrote and produced Good Night, And Good Luck together and will both run Smoke House, which is named after a long-time Burbank, California, restaurant across the street from the company's offices on the Warner Bros studio lot.

She's Nuts

Naomi Campbell was arrested after allegedly causing a disturbance outside a former boyfriend's home, a British newspaper reported Friday.

The Sun tabloid said police were called after Campbell, 36, arrived at the house in the early hours of July 10 seeking the return of some belongings.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed that a 36-year-old woman had been detained for breach of the peace after "reports of a woman causing a disturbance" in London's Belgravia district.

She was freed without charge several hours later. Police retrieved the belongings, "and the woman left the scene," the force said in a statement. "No further action will be taken."

Campbell's representatives did not immediately return calls seeking comment.

Good Deed

A date with Jessica Biel has raised $30,000 to help a teenager who lost her leg in a prom night limousine accident.

Jeanne Lee, an organizer of the event dubbed "Mollypalooza," told The Associated Press the winning bid came from a man who requested anonymity. The event Tuesday raised at least $44,000 to help Molly Bloom's family with medical expenses, Lee said.

Biel, Esquire's "Sexiest Woman Alive" and a former "7th Heaven" star, "has this opportunity to create a buzz that would provide some support and she's more than happy to do that," her father, Jonathan Biel, told KMGH-TV. He said it was his daughter's idea to hold the auction for a lunch date.

Eye of the Moron

Britney Spears should keep her addled ideas to herself. In her latest rambling on her Web site, Spears muses on, of all things, tigers.

"In some ways, people are a lot like animals," Spears writes. "I'm mesmerized by tigers. Their eyes, their stripes, their constant quest for survival. They almost have a sense of mysteriousness about them. They pull you in and make it difficult to look away. They make you wonder what is behind their gaze. A sense of eerie awe comes over you in their presence. The fear they give you when you pass them is stunning. Behold the beauty of the tiger."

No Hoosier Love

The reverb is still echoing over Dan Quayle's walkout in the middle of a John Mellencamp concert in Lake Tahoe last weekend.

The singer-songwriter introduced his tune "Wall Talk" by announcing, "This next one is for all the poor people who've been ignored by the current administration."

As Quayle exited, the former veep explained, "I didn't appreciate the comment, and besides, I didn't think the show was very good." But Mellencamp said he couldn't care less that Quayle got his knickers in a twist: "I certainly wouldn't have changed a word." NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley backed Mellencamp, saying, "He's right."

While that may sound odd coming from a former conservative, Barkley told a local reporter, "I was a Republican - until they lost their minds." Quayle, known for his great golf game, served as veep under President Bush's father from 1989-'93.

--So much for that Hoosier love...

Navarro Opens Up About Split

Dave Navarro has slammed reports he already has a new girlfriend, less than 24 hours after he and wife Carmen Electra announced they were splitting.

Internet reports on Tuesday linked the former Jane's Addiction guitarist with socialite Sarah Howard and claimed they were practically living together after secretly dating for five months. Navarro has hit back at the rumors on this official blog, posting a message that said, "So, there are a few questions that I am willing to address. These I'll answer, but I am not taking any others. I figure it's better to say something here than anywhere else.

Do you have a girlfriend? No. I have been living at home, touring, making and promoting a record or shooting Rockstar for the past several months. There is absolutely no way I could be living with someone in New York. What does amicably separated mean? It means that Carmen and I love each other, we are and always will be best friends. In fact, we are supporting each other through this time. What better way to get through a tough spot than with your best friend? And that's that. (For now)"

Celebrity Justice

Former model-turned-reality TV star Janice Dickinson is being sued by celebrity jeweler Neil Lane after allegedly borrowing gems for a photo shoot and never returning them.

In a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles, Lane claims Dickinson, the former girlfriend of Jack Nicholson and Sylvester Stallone, was loaned diamond earrings and a turquoise, pearl and gold necklace, among other things, valued in total at $88,000. Lane says that Dickinson has failed to return the loaned jewelry, claiming the items were either lost or stolen - a story the jeweler's insurance agents found "dubious."

Mom Says "No"

Pop star Jessica Simpson's mum Tina has reportedly put a stop to a risque fashion shoot fearing its sexual overtones may taint her daughter's reputation.

The shoot earlier this week - which mimics a previous campaign starring British supermodel Kate Moss - would have seen the busty blonde posing in her underwear as a hunk buttoned up his trousers on a bed behind her. But worried this would create a bad image for her daughter, Tina demanded the male model keep his trousers on, shouting "Time out! Hold it. Nope, this isn't going to work."

Simpson's manager-dad Joe allegedly disagreed with his wife's assessment but his confidence was ignored. A source tells OK! magazine, "Tina dug in her heels and said there was no way she'd allow Jess to appear in the layout the way it was designed. She said the pose was too risque and made Jessica look slutty. Joe was perplexed." Tina reassured him, saying "Trust me, I'm her mother. This isn't the image we want."

Tori Spelling is moving to Manhattan.

Sources say the Beverly Hills brat is moving there with husband Dean McDermott - just for a few months - hoping she can take over from Rita Wilson as Roxie in "Chicago," although Broadway insiders doubt it.

She also wants to be far from her mother, Candy Spelling, with whom she's been feuding since her father Aaron's death. Although her show "So NoTORIous" was a hit with critics, it hasn't been picked up yet for a second season - not that she need worry about cash. Dan Baldwin Crashes

Actor Daniel Baldwin was hospitalized with back and neck injuries and faced charges including reckless driving on Wednesday after crashing his car on a busy Los Angeles street, police said.

Baldwin, 45, smashed his silver Ford Thunderbird into two parked cars after an officer saw him driving at more than 80 mph (128 kph) and weaving through traffic on bustling Bundy Drive on the city's west side, Los Angeles police spokesman Jason Lee said.

"The officer tried to catch up to the Thunderbird, lost sight of it momentarily and came up to a traffic collision where the T-bird had crashed into two parked vehicles," Lee said. "The Thunderbird pushed one of the vehicles about 20 feet , and that was a Hummer," Lee said.

Baldwin was taken to UCLA Medical Center after complaining of back and neck injuries, Lee said, and would be detained on suspicion of reckless driving and driving with a suspended license. Lee said Baldwin could also face charges of driving under the influence if he were found to be intoxicated. There were no other injuries reported and Baldwin's female passenger, who was not identified by police, was not charged.

Baldwin, who has appeared in a number of television series including "Homicide: Life on the Street," is a member of an acting clan that also includes brothers Alec, Stephen and William Baldwin.
